Dental Examination
It’s these protocols that set the stage for a sterile and clean environment necessary for dental exams and treatment procedures.
X-rays
Dental X-rays will be taken and Dr. Hawkins will thoroughly examine your mouth and the X-ray images. Then, Dr. Hawkins will explain to you exactly what your treatment plan will require. He will begin by giving you a local anesthetic in order to numb the area and block the pain, but you will remain awake and aware of the procedure. The Hawkins Dentistry team will work hard to make you as comfortable as possible throughout the appointment with various sedation methods, as needed. Once numbed by the anesthetic, your tooth will be removed.

Teeth Cleaning
Professional teeth cleanings do much more than at-home cleanings. Plaque and tartar that can damage your teeth and gums can be more effectively removed with dental instruments. Professional cleanings will keep your mouth free of these harmful substances.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a mineral that naturally exists in water and other foods (such as grapes). Since it is known to protect tooth enamel, it is often added to toothpastes and other oral care products. Since it may not be available in everyone’s water supply, it is important to consider a professional fluoride treatment for your child.
Dental Sealants
Dentistry that protect teeth from future decay. At Hawkins Dentistry, dental sealants are a common preventative service we provide to patients of all ages.

Fillings
Cavities are unattractive and can result in an extremely decayed or lost tooth. Metal fillings, however, can also be seen as unattractive when they are in view. When you talk and smile, you do not want visible silver or gold fillings in your mouth. A filling that matches your natural tooth is the ideal alternative. This way, no one will know you have a filling in your tooth.
Resin Composite
An inlay is a term for a pre-molded filling made of porcelain or composite resin that is applied to the outer edges of the tooth. Your dentist will insert the inlay after they have removed the decay. It may sound painful, but it is actually a simple and painless dental procedure.
Veneers
If you have cracked teeth or other imperfections, porcelain veneers may be an excellent option for restoring your beautiful smile. The entire process may take multiple appointments. First, Dr. Hawkins will make impressions to create a mold. Then, he will find the right porcelain shade that matches your natural teeth. After that, he will cover your teeth with temporary crowns. On the next visit, your new crown will be permanently affixed.
Bridges
After a dental bridge has been placed in your mouth, it is essential to make sure that take excellent care of your remaining teeth, especially the ones that are supporting it. This means brushing at least twice a day and flossing regularly. If you avoid damage or decay on your natural teeth, the bridge will have a higher likelihood of staying in place without problems.
Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
Dr. Hawkins can mend routine cavities by drilling away the decayed enamel and filling in the empty space. However, when the decay has expanded to the root of a tooth, a root canal treatment may be the only way to save the tooth and prevent extraction. Most root canal treatments are very successful, and contrary to popular belief, they are painless with the use of local anesthesia.

Deep Cleaning
Scaling and root planing are the most common therapies to treat this gum disease. It is a two-step process that starts with deep cleaning, during which Dr. Hawkins removes plaque and calculus tartar down to the depths of the gum pocket. After, he will smooth your tooth’s root surfaces, which helps the gum tissue heal and reattach to the tooth. Scaling and root planing treatments may take place over several visits.

Dentures
Dentures are non-permanent teeth replacements. When only a few teeth are missing, a partial denture may be used to fill the gaps. Usually, this partial denture attaches to the teeth that surround the void. A full denture is a complete plate of teeth that are custom-made and placed in the mouth.
