        We signed up with her services to take care of our toddler. He started coming home smelling like cigarette smoke. I directly asked her about it as she encouraged us to bring up any concerns. She directly told me that she does not smoke and denied that her mother (who also watched the children) did not smoke. But yet he continued to smell like it and then she began burning candles at her home. We decided to end services and then I recently saw her post on facebook that she is thankful to her daughter for asking her to stop smoking and did recently. The timing fits with that she was indeed smoking cigarettes while our son was going to daycare in her home. Two problems: one we did not want a provider to watch our son who smokes, and two, the bigger problem is that she lied right to my face about smoking. That speaks to a bigger trust issue and in order to send your children somewhere and be able to work with peace of mind you need to trust your daycare provider.
