Illini State Park

This is a wonderful Campground. The view of the Illinois river is wonderful summer and winter when we camp here yes we like to camp here in Jan. We enjoy watching all the Barges and personal boats go by. The only bad thing is the stinky water which has a high sulfur content but they do treat it and it does help. The water is good for drinking. The staff is very nice. The sad thing is Gov.Blagojevic is closing it forever unless enough people write to him and beg him to keep it open we know people that have been camping here since it used to be FREE yup! free that's a long time. Over 30 years. If you have never been here try to come soon it is a very family like park also has a great Ice Crm.stand called C.P.'s also a very busy boat launch safely away from the c.ground area but not to far,still in the park.when you camp here you don't feel like your in a parking lot camping as with many other c.grounds. All I can say is it is GREAT COME STAY.
