Sorely disappointing experience. This restaurant touts itself as a fine dining establishment, but unfortunately this extends only to the relatively plush (but banal) interiors and food presentation. The actual food is singularly uncreative and banal compared to more superior restaurants found further away in Minneapolis or Chicago. The wine selection is substandard for what one would expect. Would not recommend.

Provided by SuperpagesMy boyfriend and I drove two hours to eat at Elizabeth's and were really let down. As a culinary arts graduate, my boyfriend likes to check out new places in the area, but most of our meal besides the service was mediocre. Huge portions, over-priced dishes, and lack of quality in the dishes left us disappointed. My twice baked potato tasted like instant mashed potatoes, and my boyfriends duck was confeit was burnt on one side. The cheese and fruit platter appetizer we ordered was alright, but the cheese was not room temperature, making it harder to enjoy. The wilted grapes were unapealing. One the flip side, the building a decor were amazing, and our server was even better! Very knowledgable and friendly. I hope the owners see this and can make some changes to survive in Marquette! Definetely not a horrible meal, but surely not worth the $ 130.00 we spent!

Provided by Superpageswow!! that sounds a lot like an advertisement.. yet i don't see anything about the rediculously high prices that most Marquette citizens can't afford more than once or twice a year, if at all. I'll take the Vierling any day of the week over Elizabeth's. I can get great food and appetizers that don't cost 80 dollars, and that's not an exaggeration. It only gets the 3 stars I'm giving it because the food was good, however I had to sacrifice my heating bill to eat there.

Provided by SuperpagesWhat surprised me most of the Chop House was the quality of the food and the portion sizes. Easily some of the best food in town and dishes so big you'll have plenty to take home for a mid-night snack. I can't recommend this place enough - the bread basket alone is enough reason to eat there.

From the moment we entered until the time we left it was-----ABSOLUTELY the BEST dining experience we've had in the 15 years we've lived in the Marquette area. Drinks were excellent, the wine list was impressive (over 100 varieties) and most wines were available by the glass. Our waiter, Nicholas (sp) was GREAT. The staff was very attentive, and the food? The food was indescribably DELICIOUS!! The steak was done exactly as ordered, and the seafood (crab legs) were fresh split and scored
All in all it was the best dining experience we have had in the U.P.!! It was a wonderful place to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary!
Please, don't forget to order desert, IF YOU HAVE ROOM!!
Thank you, Tom and Elizabeth, it was awesome---------Jim Wheeler, Gwinn, Mi.
ps: we'll see you soon, gotta have a go at that Prime Rib!!

Provided by SuperpagesThis place is amazing! Beautiful ambience, a highly trained professional staff, incredible food, steaks that melt in your mouth, seafood fresh daily, all that and a view of Lake Superior! The only restaurant in Marquette where you can dine on the deck overlooking the lake. The art deco martini bar has a top shelf selection and nearly 100 wines by the glass, a meeting room for private functions, everything you could possibly need for a night on the town! It's excellent!
