Mental Health
For decades, Community Skills Program has been a provider of vocational services for the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Workers' Compensation Programs, other organizations, and private insurance companies. Community Skills Program currently offers individual and group services to the OVR district offices in Harrisburg, Norristown, Philadelphia, Reading, and York. New OVR initiatives (particularly pre-employment transition services) are underway to fulfill the mission of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Part-time and full-time vocational counselors/employment specialists are needed immediately to work with individuals with a variety of disabilities, particularly persons with Asperger's, mental health disorders, and brain injuries. A master's degree, certification as a rehabilitation counselor or employment support professional, and experience in job development and placement are preferred; a bachelor's degree in a human services or rehabilitation discipline is the minimum requirement. Physical Therapists

Neuro Rehabilitation
The majority of the staff have a master’s degree in a rehabilitation or rehabilitation-related discipline. The staff members who have a bachelor’s degree are persons who have work experience, particularly in the field of brain injury rehabilitation, that has prepared them to provide treatment in a community-based program. Community Skills Program supports the preparation and application process for all staff to become certified as brain injury specialists (CBIS), and sponsors the memberships of all the neurorehabilitation specialists in their state brain injury association. The director and client services liaisons provide supervision on an ongoing basis, in addition to conducting regularly scheduled staff meetings (being held virtually at this time, due to COVID-19).
