Emergency Care
The physician will call you back in as reasonable time period as possible, usually less than 30 minutes. If you have not heard from the physician you can call the answering service again. Endometriosis
Marietta OB-GYN Affiliates, P.A. provides endometriosis treatments as well as comprehensive gynecologic care for the residents of Marietta and the surrounding areas. Endometriosis is a common gynecologic disorder affecting a large number of women. The symptoms include increased menstrual cramps, infertility and pain during intercourse. There are many theories as to what causes this disorder, however, at this time, the cause is not definitely known.

If one of our providers refers you to another physician or for a diagnostic test, we will do our best to try to make sure you have the appropriate referral number before your appointment. You may be asked, however, to make the appointment with a physician of a particular specialty (such as urology) who is within your network and then call us back with the name of the physician and your appointment date and time. We will then obtain the referral for you. Please be aware that this can take 5 to 10 business days.

Cervical Cancer
Marietta OB-GYN Affiliates, P.A. provides cervical cancer screenings as well as complete gynecologic care for women in Marietta and the surrounding areas. According to the American Cancer Society Guidelines for the Early Detection of Cancer, all women should begin cervical cancer screening about three years after they begin having vaginal intercourse, but no later than twenty-one years old. Screening should be done every year with the regular Pap test or every two years using the newer liquid-based Pap test. Beginning at age thirty, women who have had three normal Pap test results in a row may get screened every two to three years. Women older than thirty may also get screened every three years with either the conventional or liquid-based Pap test, plus the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) test.

Nuchal Translucency is a test used to assess the risk of Down Syndrome and some other chromosomal abnormalities as well as major congenital heart problems in a developing baby. The test uses an ultrasound to measure the clear (translucent) space in the tissue at the back of a developing baby’s head. Babies with abnormalities tend to accumulate more fluid at the back of their neck during the first trimester, causing this clear space to be larger than average.
