We use state-of-the-art monitoring equipment to track respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, pulse oxygenation, carbon dioxide levels and continuous electrocardiography.
Immunizations
Please send all pertinent radiographs, laboratory work, vaccine history and medical records from the last year by fax (678-494-4701) or electronically to consult@vrspatl.com. Information not provided to our surgeons at the time of the office visit may result in a delay of treatment. We request that all vaccinations be current prior to referral. Please include in the referral information the date of vaccination including rabies.

Neurology
We offer CT imaging at VRSP Center for Surgery, Neurology and Rehabilitation in Roswell. Clients who prefer to have surgery at the Marietta, or Woodstock locations can have imaging performed at the Roswell Center and schedule surgery and rechecks at our other locations. Please call for estimates. Recommended imaging varies based on patient and client’s needs.

After a mass was detected on my dog’s liver using ultrasound by my primary veterinarian, I requested a referral for a consultation with a VRSP veterinarian. VRSP was able to get us in within a few days to evaluate our dog, Taz and suggested further diagnostics to better understand his condition. The entire staff at VRSP is focused on providing the highest customer care. If you need to see a veterinary specialist, they seem to realize that there is a lot of stress and concern. They do everything in their power to make you feel welcome and cared for. Dr. Born is exceptional – for our first appointment, she and the technician sat on the floor in the exam room and played with and made a fuss over Taz which totally put him at ease. Her exam was thorough and her diagnostic plan was a good one. I appreciate her concern for Taz.
Radiology
When it comes to weakness or lameness, it’s critical to understand whether the root cause is orthopedic or neurologic – or if it’s a measure of both. VRSP’s surgeons collaborate to provide the highest level of care. Pairing our surgeons’ expertise with non-invasive imaging like CT and digital radiology allows an advantageous treatment plan to be implemented. In most cases, rehabilitation is important to yield the fastest and most complete return of function. With VRSP’s in-house physical rehabilitation center, you can be assured that our surgeons and therapists are working as a team to provide the best outcome possible.

General Surgery
Board-certified, veterinary surgeon Dr. Jeff Little joined the Veterinary Referral Surgery Practice in 2013. Dr. Little received his bachelor's degree in molecular biology in 2002 from Vanderbilt University. While attending Vanderbilt, Dr. Little pitched for the Commodore baseball team and was a finalist for the Southeastern Conference scholar-athlete of the year in 2002. Following a minor league pitching career with the Chicago White Sox, Dr. Little completed veterinary school at Purdue University. While attending Purdue, Dr. Little was a member of the Phi Zeta honor society and received the Gamma Sigma Delta Top Senior Veterinary Student Award. Graduating first in his class, he received his doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2009. After completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at North Carolina State University in 2010, Dr. Little continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, where he completed a surgical residency in 2013. In 2014, he was named a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Dr. Little is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Little has also been published in the American Journal of Veterinary Research, Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Rapid Prototyping Journal and authored a textbook chapter on the bladder in Feline Soft Tissue and General Surgery.

Arthroscopy
Dr. Kayla Born was born in Birmingham, Alabama but spent most of her time growing up in the Cleveland, Ohio area. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio State university in 2000 with a BS in Animal Science. In 2003 she graduated from OSU with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After a one- year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in NYC she returned to Ohio as a general practitioner. Completion of a small animal surgery internship and residency with Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialist in Maryland occurred in 2010. Dr. Born has interest in orthopedic, soft tissue and some neurologic surgery. She has experience with arthroscopy, laparoscopy, fluoroscopy and minimally invasive fracture repair. Currently she is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons - Small Animal (2011) and member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Additionally, she is a member of the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology.
