CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE! No complaints about the apartment layout or the maintenance staff but they have THE WORST office staff one could imagine and the amenities you that supposedly come with the complex or ones that you pay extra for aren't even worth it!The office staff acts like they're doing you a favor by assisting when you come into the office. Turnover is SUPER high and turnaround on messages left at the office is HORRIBLE and sometimes non-existent. Even from their corporate offices in California... Most of the maintenance staff is pleasant but some of the things they keep fixing, have to be addressed on more than one occasion, especially with water (and water damage related) issues.

The apartment and car break-ins have become a NIGHTMARE and even the cops have commented that they need to invest in better security protocols. The "security" gate is ALWAYS broken. They used to have a guard shack but never replaced it after someone hit it with their car. They have several impromptu rules that are not supported by visible signage that they try to enforce-and it leaves us as residents frustrated. I used to love living here (mainly for the space), but now I feel bad that I ever referred this complex to anyone else. AVOID this complex if you want decent customer service, a real security feature, working amenities, and consistent good practices.

Looks nice at a glance, but the apartments are falling apart & the maintenance takes weeks to deal with issues. also, don't put any value in the gated community thing since the gates are broken 90% of the time. Otherwise staff is nice, but that's not enough to justify the poor apartments state.

Overall

The Gardens was a complete nightmare trying to move in. Before my move in date of September 12th 2014, I was given a call by the Asst. Manager saying the unit I signed for would be leased again by the current resident because it was approved by corporate. Because of this inconvenience, they promised me a renovated unit at the same rate of the unit I would have gotten. On the actual day of move in, I walk in the office and nobody knows about me moving in today. After 5 mins they finally figure out whats going on supposedly and get me started with everything. I sign my papers and then find out that they failed to charge me the $200 deposit when I submitted my app TWO MONTHS AGO! They proceed to blame it on the guy who signed me up that no longer works there. They ask that I pay it but I insist that I will check with my bank to confirm everything before I double pay. While still in the office the property manager goes to check on the unit and asks me to sit tight with the Asst manager. She comes back to tell me the bathroom door molding is damaged due to maybe the previous resident moving out. She leaves again and then comes back to tell me the Hardwood vinyl is completely destroyed and needs to be redone. (keep in mind that 80 percent of the apt is vinyl) They apologize and offered a $25 dollar concession fee. I agree. We then finally take a look at the place and once we enter I immediately notice that the unit is not renovated, I notice dust strings hanging from the ceiling, the dishwasher had food particles inside, the floor damaged, chips in the wall, the molding chipped off, and dingy doorknobs covered in paint. I express my dissatisfaction and the property manger gives me the next 20 mins to decide before they close(5:30PM) to decide if I want to spend the next 12 months there. I politely tell her no, thats not fair. I tell her to give me till tomorrow to think on it. She gives me the courtesy officers number to call back with my decision. I instead go in the next day and hand in all of my keys and tell them i do not want the place and I would like a refund for the rent I paid on the move in date of $480. They never made any attempt to call corporate or see if they could do anything. I found out that they had a renovated unit with the same floor plan that was vacant. I told them that the unit was probably the one I was supposed to move in because of the inconvenience but they acted like they didn't know that I was ever told that. They continue to say sorry and that they know nothing about it. This is the worst experiences I've had with any rental property. Thankfully I found somewhere else to live a day later and got approved. I am currently working on getting my refund as promised and a signed statement saying that I am out of the leasing agreement like the property manager promised. They are completely unprofessional and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!! (And to think, this is the condensed version of the story)

Overall
Beware, this place is horrible!!!!!

I only live there until my 12 month lease was up. I had mold in every room and bathroom, also in every window seals. My fridge broke after only a month living there, so they continued to replace it with those yellow 1970's fridges that also broke! Until they finally on the 4th try sprung for white fridge from the late 80's early nineties! After all of that, weeds started growing from the baseboards in my bedroom and living room. I haven't even gotten the hundreds of bugs walking right under the exterior wall. The owners and employees need to be fined and removed!! I had to get the health code inspectors involved. My things are ruined, save yourself this headache.

This place is great if you would like to live in a small (660 sq ft.), roach infested, over-priced (the $629 rent does not include the additional, mandatory fees for water, renter's insurance and trash) apartment that you get your car stolen from in front of and your neighbors have their door busted down by a S.W.A.T. team for running an illegal drug ring. Maintenance calls take forever to be attended to. The gates in this "controlled access community" are ALWAYS open so anyone can come in or out at anytime. The laundry facility has had a laundry a washer and a dryer out since we moved in six months ago. When we brought our concerns to management,no one would call us back. I even left a comment a week ago in the "resident feedback" portion of the property's website and I have yet to receive a response. These people obviously do not care about their residents as much as they care about making a buck. This place is terrible and we are moving out as quickly as possible.

The customer service is horrib...

The customer service is horrible. The only part f the staff that belongs there is Alan, he is phenomenal and I hope the management is at least smart to realize that if they fire him, they will lose A LOT of tenants. I have never been more mortified with how staff treats tenants. The condition of the place is horrid. They cover up major issues the cheapest way possible so that you cannot tell until after you've been living there for a few weeks. The general atmosphere of the place is nice, once you drive in but after getting passed the entrance, you will see that the gates ARE NEVER CLOSED. It's a false sense of safety, because I have seen people walk right through them from off the streets.
