La Bamba Mexican & Spanish Restaurant

Very good food. Authentic Mexican food oraleeeee

I have been going to La Bamba for over 15 years. I always have good service, good food for a good price. The owner always makes a point to come say hello when he sees me. Would recommend the fajitas and the Masa de Puerco.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years for their good food, great margaritas and most importantly family environment and kid friendly restaurant (I was obviously mistaken). We went this past Saturday 4/25/09 and took our 16 month old baby. She was a bit loud like every kid in this world is. Some how she cut her lip and was bleeding and of course she was crying. Well.....there was this miserable young couple a few tables down from us and the women looked back and yelled out "SHUT HER UP AND PLEASE LEAVE THE RESTAURANT". I ignored her because I was busy attending to my baby. She continued with her comments and that's when I answered back at her and things got pretty ugly. The so called "Manager" came to us but looked at me and told us to leave or he will call the police on us. He never said a word to the other couple who started it all and they never left the restaurant. I tried explaining to him what had happened but there was no getting through to him. I tried getting his name but he refused and said he was one of the owners. The guy did not look smart enough to run such a successful business and was extremely rude to me and my baby. He saw that there was blood on the napkins as I was showing them to him but he didn't care, he wanted us out and was going to take our tag numbers to have us arrested. This was a big dissapointment, as we have been going to this restaurant for many years and for being a comfortable family friendly place. SO DO NOT TAKE CHILDRENS TO THIS PLACE AS IT IS NOT A KID FRIENDLY RESTAURANT AND THE OWNER WILL TREAT EXTREMELY BAD. I WILL NEVER EVER GO THEIR AGAIN.

If you like american style- fake mexican food, then that is the place to go. I am latin so my expectations are high. The food sucks. The rice tastes like it is from a box. The steak was unchewable and salty.

There is a reason there are usually long lines here to get a table. Overall I would rate the service and food here as excellent.
