This restaurant was unique to me but I say this in an appreciate way. Nothing fancy but very special in the sense that I live in Chicago and my folks were both from Maquoketa. After my parents left Chicago and moved back to their hometown they enjoyed one year together before my mother passed away. My father grew up in that town and was a pretty good athlete, my grandfather owned a local barber shop called The Clip Joint, and so I have eaten in many of the local places. This establishment has terrific food. I haven't been there in a very long time but I remember friendly service, terrific food, reasonable prices and a whole bunch of shuffling tables. No big deal with the tables. This is a real world type place.
OK, after registering and seeing updated pictures, this establishment is quite different than it was back in the early 90's. I believe the owners name was Daisy?
