About Our Studio and Our Photographers Buell-Kraft Studio is one of Mansfield's oldest businesses, established in 1925, as Kraft Photo Finishing. The original studio building is still in existence, and is being used by an artist in the downtown area. We are a family-oriented studio specializing in children, families, and high school seniorsthat is, people! You'll be proud to display your portraits at home, work, or anywhere! We want you to have the best we have to offer. Our skilled photographers are continually looking for fresh new ideas, and educating themselves to maintain their leading positions in this area's photography market. Our family of photographers began in 1936, when Joe Hrivnak and Lee Newbright partnered and then purchased the studio from Clarence Buell ( now Buell-Kraft ), a Bellville resident. Naturally, Joe's son, Bob, was raised with photography. This father and son team starting working together in 1973. In late 1973, Joe passed away and Bob bought the studio from Mr. Newbright in 1977. Bob's daughter, Carla, grew up with the family business as well. She began working there in high school and throughout college, graduating with honors at Ohio State University. Now Bob and Carla work together daily, as one of the few Ohio independently-owned studios with TWO talented photographers on staff! CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT YOUR STUDIO? Buell-Kraft Studio is a family-owned business with three generations of photographers. Bob and Carla ( father and daughter ) are both award-winning photographers. Both have taught other photographers. If for any reason you are not happy with your images, we will re-photograph you. We use only the best printing available. We don't do "in-house" printing. Our images are printed at a professional color lab to ensure you'll receive the best there is to offer. We prefer to do our creating from behind the camera, rather than in front of a printer. Our happy customers agree with our decision. All of the portraits you choose to order from are appropriately retouched. Normal retouching includes the removal or softening of blemishes, lines, and excessive shine. We are able to completely remove braces, scars, fix clothing, restore old damaged photographs, and create exciting special effects ( there is a slight artwork charge for these services ).
