Ray Family & Cosmetic Dentistry

I reviewed this dental practice previously when the office was still Smile Center with Dr. Byrd. However, Dr. Byrd moved to Ohio to do pediatric dentistry. Now the business has changed to Ray Dentistry.

Ray Dentistry is extremely disappointing! My 1st visit to the new practice I had a filling done. Less than 3 weeks later, the filling fell out. I called the office the next morning and the woman, with a thick Indian accent, who answered was very rude and short with me! I explained my situation and she tried to reject my need for an appointment because "insurance usually won't pay for another filling on the same tooth in the same year." I told her that I didn't care about the insurance and that I needed my filling replaced irregardless! Honestly, the replacement filling should have been free because of the shoddy work by Ray Dentistry to begin with!

I had to argue with her to even get an appointment scheduled, which turned out to be over 3 weeks away! So, I waited in pain for 3 weeks to be seen. In these 3 weeks, I developed an infection and eventually an abscess. On the day of my appointment, the same woman again rejected me when she snidely told me that I wasn't in the appointment book! I made ANOTHER appointment and again it was 3 weeks away. I asked for some antibiotics in the meantime for my throbbing abscess but the receptionist said no.

Three weeks later, I AGAIN turned out to NOT be in the appointment book, even though I made the appointment in person AND had the written appointment card from the exact same receptionist!

By this time, my abscess had spread the infection to my jaw bone. I again asked for antibiotics and again was rejected. The Indian receptionist is one of the rudest people I've ever met! AGAIN I was told to make ANOTHER appointment in ANOTHER 3 weeks!!!

I was so mad that I opened up the YP app on my phone and located another dentist locally. The receptionist at the new dentist, Dr. Rawlinson, was extremely polite, helpful and understanding! She made me an appointment for 8 am the following morning to be seen as his first patient of the day. Dr. Rawlinson was a godsend!

Because of the shoddy work and the irresponsible receptionist, I had a massive infection in my jaw bone and my tooth would need to be pulled after 10 days of penicillin! And Ray Dentistry still had the gall to send a bill for a "missed appointment", for a date l that I showed up but my name wasn't on the books!!

I forewarn everyone to beware of Ray Dentistry if they value their teeth and would like to keep them!!
