Chemical Peels
Dermaplaning uses specialized blades designed to remove dead skin cells and fine facial hairs (“peach fuzz”) known for trapping dirt and oil and causing acne and a lackluster appearance. The esthetician will use a handheld tool with a surgical-quality blade to administer this treatment along your face. As the skin is held taut, the blade is gently stroked across the skin at a 45 degree angle to remove the upper, damaged skin cells. Depending on your goals, this procedure can be performed as a standalone treatment, or as a preliminary procedure prior to a chemical peel or laser therapy to create a smoother surface.
