didi paradise spa

My boyfriend purchased a gift certificate for me from Amazon for a couple's massage at this "spa". We made an appointment and went for our service back in March 2014. The massage therapists who treated us were very nice women. Only thing we really joked about was right after they massaged us, one went to an area basically in the same room just separated by a drape to snack on chips. As we were getting dressed, we could hear her chewing. Did not really bother us, we understand everyone gets hungry but it was a little unprofessional.

As we were leaving, we were met by the two massage therapists, the receptionist and I'm not sure if the other person was the owner or manager. They were getting ready to close but offered us a special on a couple's hot stone massage. Being that we were new to this "spa" and we wanted to support the growth of a small business, we decided to purchase it. We were not given a gift certificate, we were just told to call to make an appointment and that it would be documented.

It is now July and my boyfriend and I decided to try out the hot stone massage. I call Didi's Paradise and spoke to someone who advised me that she does see we were in for a couple's massage in March and that we purchased a hot stone massage but that I should double check to see if I have a certificate. I told her ok, I will check but I highly doubt I was given a certificate. The very next day I called back to inform them that I do not have a certificate. The young lady at the reception passed the phone to her manager.

This manager got on the phone explaining that as with any spa, you are given a certificate to redeem the massage. She barely let me speak trying to explain how spas work and how I would not be able to come in for this service until March of 2015 when they check the certificate receipts to see if anyone presented the certificate. She told me that even though we are the ones who purchased the massages, anyone could "find" the certificate somewhere or if we gave the certificate to someone, they would have to honor the service. I told this woman, we would like to come in for the service, we can come in with identification since she had our names, we are to be the only recipients of the massages. If anyone was to "find" the certificate and try to use it, they could be denied because it was already used by the purchaser. She advised me that no, their system does not keep track of the certificates that are being used and that we would have to wait until next year because they are not going to look back to see if the certificate was presented twice... still trying to figure out how that is effective. She refused to honor my request and even started being rude with her responses. She told me that I need to learn how to manage my money and refused to release her name.

I have never written a review on a business, but this place is so unprofessional, I feel as if they need to be exposed for not wanting to help their clients...they just want your money. Perhaps they will understand what customer service is all about. I do not need a lesson in money management, as a matter of fact...maybe this incompetent manager needs a lesson in BUSINESS MANAGEMENT and she can buy a new system that can provide them with efficient and accurate data information to help them better serve their clients.
