Prevention is the key to success in all phases of restorative care. Dr. Kahn can evaluate the best means possible to keep one free from dental disease. With a thorough examination, which includes digital radiography reducing exposure to radiation and laser photometric evaluation, the teeth are planned for cleaning, sealants, bite appliances, fluoride application and home care.

Fillings
Veneers
Tooth surfaces are bonded and veneered. Dr. Kahn has bonded teeth since entering practice as well. This procedure works best to fill gaps between teeth and can be applied to change tooth color. The veneering process significantly changes the color, contour, and length of teeth. Dr. Kahn will make models of your teeth and prepare his changes to be reviewed with you. The teeth determined for change are prepared and the veneers are constructed. The veneers are bonded to the teeth. Since the veneering process has been available, Dr. Kahn has a multitude of smiling patients.
Crowns
Single crowns are brushed normally, massaging the gum and scrubbing the biting surface. Floss is introduced between teeth and pulled through to the side rather than pulled out at the chewing surface. A knot tied in the floss will pull impacted foods from around the temporary. If a temporary bridge is placed, floss threading will be taught at the time of placement.

Restorative Dentistry
Restorative dentistry varies for individual persons as to their needs and demands. From gaps to replacing missing teeth, there are a multitude of materials and methods to creatively restore a person's mouth to optimal health. The health of a person's gums is essential. The gums are the foundation of the teeth. They reflect other body systems and evaluated at every dental visit. A thorough cleaning with instructions for home care for daily maintenance can be the best insurance to protect your general health. Diagnoses range from visual and radiographic exams to diagnostic models for the replacement of missing teeth, and periodontic exams where gum health is found to be less than desirable.

Root Canal Treatment
Your tooth has been treated to remove infection from within and around its neighboring boney and gum housing. The infection or inflammation may render the tooth sensitive to pressures. Typically a pain medication and sometimes an antibiotic are prescribed. Following these instructions will aid the healing process and keep you and your tooth more comfortable.

Dentures
If the future prosthesis will be removable, the immediate is maintained in the mouth for 48 hours to establish a healing stent, a bandage which offers a healing platform to the gum and bone. It maybe removed for brushing and rinsing but must be returned to position. If left out of the mouth, the prosthesis may be difficult to replace or wear due to the swelling of tissues. Notify this office if you had attempted the replacement without success. After 48 hours, the denture or partial maybe adjusted but should be worn until the extraction sites are no longer sore to touch. Once fully healed, the prosthesis should be removed for sleep. A removable device must be clean. As teeth become coated with bacterial plaque and calculus or tartar, a prosthesis may do the same.

Dental Implants
If the future fixed prostheses, a bridge or implant supported devices, are planned, the immediate maybe fixed to the supporting structures with a temporary cement. Home care instructions will be delivered for flossing, brushing and rinsing specifically related to an extraction and the prosthesis.

Teeth Whitening
He has always provided whitening services in office and allows for patients to have whitening materials for home use. In the office today, in a 45 minute procedure, he and staff apply materials to the teeth. This procedure will lighten teeth for the significant photo or event to be held in the near future. It is also available to build custom trays for your teeth that will hold whitening materials to zones of your teeth. With thorough instructions, the trays are delivered with materials for home application.
Cosmetic Dentistry
I have called Florida my home since 1993, as having my birth and youth in the Dominican Republic. Early on, I worked as a dental assistant for my father. I hold a Certificate as a Dental Assistant and I am an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant, both earned at the University of Florida College of Dental Medicine. I have a particular love for Cosmetic Dentistry. I am married and am the mother of two daughters. My free time is devoted to Spiritual activities while I enjoy visiting new places and the beach.
