When I began practicing 32 years ago, the most common arthritic condition I saw was hip dysplasia (arthritis of the hips) in large breed dogs. Over the past 20 years I have seen a dramatic shift in the location and frequency of arthritis in dogs and cats. The most common arthritic condition is now degenerative disc disease (arthritis of the back) in cats and dogs. Over 80% of the pets I see have some level of degenerative disc disease (IVDD). This dis-ease is affecting pets as young as 6 months of age.

Veterinary Surgery
Services include full internal medicine diagnostic evaluations, including ultrasound, endoscopy, full in house laboratory, digital radiography, dental radiography and laser therapy (both CO2 surgical cutting laser and class IV therapeutic laser). Surgical services include most soft tissue surgeries, dentistry and some orthopedic cases, all monitored with the latest in anesthesia monitoring equipment AND an assigned anesthesia assistant to ensure the highest quality of care possible. PVMC boards animals, having both indoor and outdoor runs and offers non show cut grooming.

We define urgent care as any condition you feel is an emergency and needs to be seen. We DO NOT diagnose or treat over the phone or by email. Dr. Siegel is on call 7 days a week (unless she is out of town). Please only call on emergency if you are willing to bring your pet in for care. For emergency care, call 813-973-2929 and follow the instructions to contact Dr. Siegel. We see emergency cases during the day for a small additional fee. After hours emergency starts at $95. All tests, treatments and medications are additional. Our complete in house laboratory allows us to reach an accurate diagnosis quickly. We accept cash, check (with proper ID) and all major credit cards. Payment is expected in full at the time services are rendered.

Dr Siegel has been a visionary in the health field. Her hospital was the first in Florida to offer ultrasound telemedicine, and the second hospital to offer class 4 laser therapy, the first on board with digital radiography, and she continues to strive to stay cutting edge in the profession.
