I love everything about this complex except the dog park. When it rains it turns into a swamp of poop because some people don't pick up and because there is no drainage. The staff were really nice and actually have been really understanding when it came to the recent COVID virus. Some things get fixed on time, some things don't. Overall though I felt safe with police officers living in the complex and good lighting at night.

VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Rent goes up every single year, no matter what... don't let them fool you about having loyal customers that stay year by year. Rent goes way up, and the only thing they have to show for this is new pool furniture.. are you kidding me?!

Overall
Dropped Balls & Letdowns

I lived here 2010-2012. It's pretty bad when the only positives that you can think of are, "Well, at least I have a carport to prevent hail damage and at least it's cheaper than Camden's properties." The management here is really disappointing on a consistent basis, although Jillia generally has demonstrated more effort and pride in her work than her peers. Here are some highlights:

- When my AC broke over the summer, it took four days to replace. The kicker is that the apartment next door had a perfectly functional AC but they were trying to lease that apartment, of course, so a swap-out wasn't possible. What sort of message does that send about retention being a priority? I was told they couldn't procure the part locally or special order it. After complaining about how my holiday weekend was basically ruined because it was now 90 degrees AT NIGHT INDOORS, I was given a box fan. Yep. A box fan. Some concession.

- At various times over an 18 month timespan, I issued noise complaints on my neighbor. I am very tolerant when it comes to noise. She was constantly playing her stereo all throughout the day. Every square foot of my apartment was bombarded by bass and treble. It was so loud that you could sing along. When it wasn't music, the neighbor was fighting with her 3-4 (!?) roommates, cursing (or sometime cackling) very loudly, slamming doors, and such at odd hours. Every complaint just generated a series of meaningless violation letters that resulted in no lasting, meaningful change. How many times do you need to warn a problematic resident until it comes time for dismissal? Somebody needed to put on their manager pants and snuff out the issue long, long ago. It should never drag on through an entire lease cycle, let alone bleed over into a second one.

- The leasing office closes at 6 on weekdays. Although the leasing office may be open at 5:45 PM, don't expect your packages left by UPS to be retrieved. I've had many times when I have special ordered something to arrive on a certain day only for the management to check out of the office early, leaving me with no ability to get my package. Selfish. Very selfish.

- The fitness center has very old equipment. The treadmill belt is threadbare in spots. The elliptical squeaks and feels loose sometimes. The weight machine is such a fossil that they should scrap it for free weights. Occasionally the heat is cranked way beyond what anyone should work out in. There is no disinfectant anywhere, which is a major health hazard. The fitness center is an amenity, sure, but that's part of the value of monthly rent. Take better care of it.

- The staff clearly have no control of door to door salespeople. Be prepared to have your free time sucked away by AT&T U-Verse and friends.

- A monthly pest control fee is assessed but I swear that money can't be being budgeted to that cause. I've seen way more insects here than I have anywhere else year-round.

- The staff often make false promises. "We'll paint your door." Didn't happen for a year. "We'll get you a copy of your lease." Still hasn't happened (and those requests have even involved the head manager, Kim). Good, old-fashioned organization and follow-through means a lot more to residents than chili cook-offs and other superlatives.

Overall
a great place

I've lived at Stonemill since June '09. It's been a great property. the staff has been friendly and proffesional and always timely with requests. The property is visually appealing. The location is also excellent with quick access to major shopping.
