I have been going to Kim at Kaleidoscope for 22 years. She is highly experienced with color and intuitive with client requests. She can always picture what you describe and make it com to fruition. You won't be disappointed!

Is there such a thing as a mindful and compassionate haircut? If so, I got one yesterday from Kim. She was awesome. My hair looks REALLY bad if I get a bad cut, and it takes a long time to grow out. I was a bit nervous to try a new place. But Kim was kind, a great listener, and she understood what I needed and wanted. I felt like a partner in a creative enterprise, not just another customer. She took her time with me. I'm really glad I went, and I'll be going back for other cuts and some color.
Kim (she's the owner) also explained the name of the salon to me - it's about having all kinds of customers from all kinds of backgrounds. I'm happy to be one of them!

I have been going to Wendy for over a year and she is great. I noticed the other person commented that there are kids running around. Well, the kids have alwasy been well-behaved when I've been there and they don't interfere with the clients since there is a room in the back with their toys and a tv. Kaleidoscope's stylists have always been down-to-earth and very helpful with suggestions when I've gone. They have great prices for their services too. I enjoy going there because, unlike some salons in town, they aren't all plastic and fake. They don't try to force you to buy designer products and they stay true to themselves. If you want a Barbie doll to do your hair and makeup you are better off at Z. But if you want a great style, color, cut for a great price give them a shot. I've never been disappointed!

I had an appointment with the owner of the shop a weeks before my wedding. When I walked into the shop, the owner, Kim, was working on someone else (I was five minutes early), Kim did not acknowledge my presence (did not say hello, or hey I am running a little late, nothing). So, I wait for 45 minutes for her to finish the woman's hair, when she had finished I stood up, and Kim said, " I will be with you in a few minutes, I have someone else before you." At this point, I told Kim that I had already been waiting for 45 minutes, and that I wish she would have called me or told me when I came in the shop that she was running late. Kim said (in an agitated voice) she wished she could give me back my 45 minutes, but she can't and that it's not like she's been sitting around doing nothing. I was too dumbfounded to say anything in return, so I just left her shop.
I had been to Kim one time prior to this visit, at which time she was very friendly (although somewhat unprofessional with her children running around the shop) and she highlighted and colored my hair. I had to go back a few days later because the highlights she had given me were not close enough to my scalp and I had about a half an inch of dark roots showing.
I was very disappointed and upset with her attitude and I will not be returning, nor will I recommend anyone to her or her shop.
