Founded in 2005 and located in Louisville, Kentucky, Hometown Hauling, Inc is a medium sized municipal waste collection, recycling and disposal company. We serve the municipal disposal and recycling needs of residences. We provide garbage, recycling, and yard waste services on a weekly basis. Our mission is to "exceed customer's expectations by providing competitive and quality services on a timely basis, and by continuing to remain fairly priced within our market."

Never picked the trash up at one my investment properties. Was told to sit the trash out Friday, and they would pick it up. Never happened. How hard is it to pick a can up?

My blacktop road was resealed and the men put a tape across the drive and tied it to the garbage can handle. Next morning your men untied it, dumped the can and retied it. Along with all the debris they pick up on the road that comes from dumping I thank them. They do a great job

I noticed my trash can had disappeared. I called to find out what to do, and was told my can had been taken due to lack of payment. I reminded the customer service rep that I was on auto pay. The rep rudely told us our payment did not go through. After looking at my account, there was no attempt made to retrieve funds from my bank. When I called HHC back with that information, I was told I had to pay a fee for them taking our can away, a fee to deliver another one, some late fees. This by far the worst customer service I had ever received from this company.

(07/17/2012) Hometown Hauling USED TO provide excellent service at a good price. Recently they have adopted ridiculously strict policies about what they will pick up: Exactly one of their wheeled garbage cans, plus only two small cans or bags of trash (unless the guy thinks it is too heavy for him), plus a maximum of one "large" item a month provided you call them in advance to schedule the "large" item. If you never have more than one can of garbage a week, they still provide average service at an average price; but with only weekly pickup their total lack of flexibility just doesn't work for a family.



(10/15/2015) Completely Unacceptable -- this is the second week in a row that they have simply failed to pick up my garbage. Both times it has been a single one of their wheeled cans, positioned at the curb the night before (so they can't say they came before we put the can out).

I've had their service for 16 years. Customer service is friendly. Drivers are polite and have picked up trash that spilled, when being emptied into their trucks.

Stay away! We always put out their can as well as one personal can. When I went to retrieve them after it was picked up I found that my personal can was cracked all the way down and rendered useless. I called and was told that "due to cold weather" my can was liable to crack and they are not responsible. Coincidentally (or not), whenever I go to pick up the cans, theirs is always placed nicely on my driveway while my personal can is always tossed on my grass on its side.

To whom it may concern,

After I pay my service up for three months, I have waited over a week for a garbage can. Not having the large can, I had to set several bags out. My two small cans were emptied, but my bags were left. I call to find out why, and it's in the policy not to pick up more than three bags. I don't have the big can to put the bags in. So, now I am stuck with bags of trash sitting in my front yard, after I have already paid for a service to remove the trash. Looks like I have gotten the short end of the stick. I will be sending a review in to BBB, Hometown Facebook page, and the Yellow page review. I am not getting the service that I paid for. I feel like my hard worked for money has been put to a waste with this company. I will be shopping for another garbage company, after January.

Switched to this hauling service based on services offered and the pricing. Website is very friendly and looks to provide ease of service. However, after having dealt with the customer service provided by this company over the past 4 months, I would say that that need a lesson is what customer service means. Very disappointed.

I got behind one of their tras...

I got behind one of their trash trucks as it was picking up trash in my neighborhood yesterday. Quite a bit of trash fell out of the truck all over the ground. The driver drove off. I called the company and complained. Their customer service woman who answered the phone said no one was going to come back to pick up the trash that fell out of their truck, but she would let the driver know. She said it wasn't their job to go back and pick up what they left in the middle of the road and what was now blowing in to people's yards. I asked to speak to a manager and she had the "route supervisor" call me. He was very rude! He kept interrupting me when I was talking and he was very sarcastic. I had to actually ask him to stop interrupting me so that I could tell him exactly what happened. He blamed my neighbors, who are paying for his service, for the problem saying that they didn't put their trash in bags and that is why it was falling out of the truck and on the ground. He's being paid to remove trash from the neighborhood not redistribute it through the neighborhood! If any falls out it should be cleaned up. What his company did was litter up my neighborhood. Littering is a crime in Kentucky and punishable by a fine. The route supervisor was argumentative and finally said that they would implement a policy for my street, then said it would apply to my whole neighborhood, that they would not pick up trash from a residence unless it was bagged. They are now going to open every trash can and look in it before collecting it. If it's not bagged they are not going to empty the trash can. I told him that was fine by me. He had a tone to his voice that made it sound like this was going to be some sort of inconvenience for me. I don't use their company for trash pickup! I use Waste Management who has better rates and better customer service. I just want his company to stop leaving litter all over my street. If this is what he needs to do to keep trash from being left and blowing all over my neighborhood that is fine by me! The way he was talking made me think that when he starts getting complaints about trash not being picked up that he is going to give people in the neighborhood my name and tell them I'm the reason for this policy. He was completely unprofessional! He acted like he was put out that he even had to talk to me about this.

Stay away from hometown!

I have had them for two weeks now. They aredon't way toto high priced! The letter they sent me said they picked up yard waist! They don't and they tried to charge me $20 more dollars a month to get it! The customer service peoples spoke too were very rude! This trash company is trash! Stay away!

I recently spoke to a Customer Service Representative from your company; named Coreen she was the most polite representative I have dealt with in a long while. There was confusion about payment on my account (made it online, not showing in system yet). Along with her and what obviously is your company's motto of contacting the customer BEFORE discontinuing there service !!! You have just made me a LIFETIME customer; as well as a "word of mouth advertisement". I will be telling everyone and leaving reviews online everywhere now.

I have a very hectic schedule and tend to overlook things and appreciate more than you know when a company takes the time to call me when something is due or before it is canceled. I have been with companies for years for that specific reason; even when other companies are less.

Loyalty to us means everything. Yes, even as simple as a phone call to prevent a cancellation or from our trash not being picked up.

have had them only one month b...

have had them only one month but the second week something turned my can over and tore a bag , the driver picked all the spillage up and cleaned the area. this was a lot more than waste management did and i had them many years and wrote good revues because i did not know this type service was in effect.

Service is very poor. The workers have no regard for personal property. If you don't use their cans they will throw yours all around your yard.Mine was up by my cars several times. So I will not be using their services any more.Customers beware.

poor customer service

For two weeks, this hauler has not picked up a recliner. I called and gave them a 3 day notice that I had a 'large' item and two weeks later it still sits at the curb side. I canceled my service and will definitely be looking for a better service, even if I have to pay a few dollars more. Cheaper isn't always better!
