Grimes Wood Animal Clinic

I wish every dog and cat could be a patient of Grimes & Wood vets. In 1982 this was our neighborhood vet so we took our dogs there. Those pups had long, healthy, happy lives. We moved to Middletown years later; we had new pups and switched vets for convenience. But we never found another clinic like Grimes & Wood. So, we are back, and the drive is absolutely worth it. This clinic is special. Grimes and Wood are the best doctors; they give time to know their patients and do what is best for each animal and owner. I recommend them to anyone who loves their pet.

Dr. Grimes has been so amazing. I have gone to him for a few years for routine stuff for my cat. He was recommended by a friend after my cat had a swollen paw for the second time. My previous vet, had sedated my cat, put him on pain meds and another medication that did not help. Dr. Grimes took one look, asked some questions, and explained to me, in my terms, why he thought it was an allegeric reaction. He gave him a shot and my cat was magical cured within days lol. And then recently my baby was diagnosed with diabetes. Dr Grimes has been absolutely wonderful with talking me through everything, giving me options (not just telling me what to do), time to do my own research, and very patient with my many questions. I am so grateful for this vet and Dr Grimes. Everyone there has been super nice and helpful through this difficult diagnosis! Their prices are very reasonable as well, but what matters most is that they are knowledgeable, caring and compassionate!!

Dr. Woods is awesome with my cat. She truly cares about their well being. She is knowledgeable, connects to her own pets, and shows empathy. My cat is in great health thanks to her and the helpful staff.

My family has been going to Grimes & Wood Animal clinic for as long as I can remember. They are amazing!! Growing up we had a dog who jumped out of the back end of my dad's truck and was drug for a quarter mile and ended up having no padding left on his paws. Dr. Wood happened to live near by and treated our dog like her own. She put him on her kitchen table, wrapped all four paws on her own kitchen towels and took care of him for a few days in her own home. I would never take my furry family members any where else!

We were blessed to find Dr. Wood 5 years ago when we moved back from Florida. Wow, she is so amazing! She is personable, caring, and so generous to serve our rescue fosters for minimal fees. We have had almost every kind of situation you can imagine with our pack and she is always thorough and compassionate. We would highly recommend her and cannot say enough about her knowledge, approach and communication skills. She always explains everything thoroughly to us and includes our opinions in the course of action. We consider her our guardian angel!

Even though Dr Wood's office is not very close to our home, we would not consider going anywhere else in the Louisville area. Our dogs have received the finest care without us having to worry about being gouged by extra costs like other vets seem to do. The office facilities are nothing fancy but don't let that deter you; they are top-notch vets with a caring demeanor that only comes from people who love animals and want the best for them. And isn't that who we want caring for a member of our family?

A great clinic. Very gentle with the clients. The fees are about what you would pay elsewhere, and Dr. Grimes clipped my dog's nails in about 20 seconds, no mistakes, no fear on my dog's part.

They board small dogs if you are a client. The charge is 12 per day. However, they do not have dog runs, so they stay in cages except for going out three times a day.

Dr. Grimes told me he would not let a dog stay for over 7 days because they do not have a way to exercise them. I boarded my dog there twice for a few days and he was well treated.

I can't say enough good things about Grimes and Wood Animal Clinic!

Easy to find. at the Poplar Level Rd exit off the Watterson, make a left, and a minute down on the left is a blue roofed building with a big sign that says "ANIMAL CLINIC"

Nothing fancy, they do not groom-and I wish they did because they would not hire a rough groomer-but the medical care is wonderful and the wait time is short.

This Animal Clinic is amazing! Dedicated, knowledgeable,and budget-friendly - Grimes & Wood Animal Clinic really cares about the animals and their owners. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, inside is a well run practice that takes a gentle approach to pet care and won't just run up the bill with "extras." My husband's family has visited this vet for over 30 years and we have 8 under our belt with our crazy cats. I can't sing their praises enough - you just have to find out for yourself. Don't go where you get lost in the quantity over quality greed, trust your pets to Grimes & Wood to ensure they live a nice, long and healthy life.
