We have been with this practice for 20 years, and the physicians are outstanding from both a diagnostic and interpersonal skills perspective. Both Dr. Laney and Dr. Purcell talk to my teenagers like they are adults, and Dr. Purcell has shown amazing proficiency and expertise in working with my daughter's ADHD. The phone staff for the most part does well, but occasionally they seem to have fill in staff that is extremely rude, abrasive, and unprofessional when trying to schedule an appointment, especially if trying to schedule in advance. Fortunately, the physicians mentioned above are well worth tolerating some substandard communication skills from certain support staff, and this seems to be the exception vs. the norm.

My kids love Dr. Laney, he talks to the kids and makes them very comfortable. I also felt that he listened to my concerns and helped come up with a workable solution. We always try to see him on our visits. There are a couple doctors that we don't care for and I just make a point to ask for specific doctors during scheduling. Overall we have been very happy with ELP.

Dr. Lynch told my ten year old son that his BMI was elevated and "he will nit live to be twenty years old." He has cried almost everyday because of his fear of dying at twenty! I feel her scare tactic was insensitive and ignorant. All five of my children have been seen by ELP for over thirteen years. I have always been happy with the team of doctors until now.

AMAZING! Our youngest daughter had some issues when she was born and was admitted to Kosair NICU. ALL of the doctors there went out of their way to make sure we had the best care and everything we needed. We never wait long for our appointments. All questions are welcome and doctors will find answer if they don't know. Also, my daughters has a blood condition that we are very familiar with. However, another child in the practice was diagnosed with same blood condition and parents were very stressed. East Louisville Pediatrics put us in contact so I could provide her some "mommy" support. They always look out for their patients!

We had extremely premature twins that spent close to 100 days in the NICU. The doctors and specialists at Kosair all told us East Louisville Pediatrics is where they would send their kids. After a year and half, we know why. The dedicated care of the doctors and staff at East Louisville has kept precious babies are healthy, out of the hospital, and thriving. What they have done is amazing. Honestly, you would never know they were premature. The doctors and nurse practitioners are top notch, professional, and caring. We are THRILLED with the care our children receive and highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for the best care for their kids!

diagnosis mix up

My son has a condition that required the treatment of a urologist Communication between East Louisville Pediatrics and the Urologist was careless and the medical term of my son's condition was changed. Because of this unnecessary tests were ordered by a doctor at East Louisville Pediatrics. A renal ultrasound was ordered and a VCUG was ordered. A nurse or medical clerk told us that the VCUG wasn't invasive, but it was. The VCUG involves inserting a catheter into the urethra up to the bladder and filling the bladder with a liquid called contrast. This was traumatic for a 11 week old baby, not to mention the worry and anxiety it caused his parents. Later when we went to the Urologist's office we were told that the tests were unnecessary and never performed on a patient with my son's condition. Both offices called me and my wife and apologized profusely and pointed fingers at each other. the pediatrician called me personally and said " well, you have some information you didn't have before, his kidney's are ok". Unbelievable. We will be taking our baby out or the care of East Louisville Pediatrics. The scary thing is, even though I'm actively pursuing a lawyer, these careless "professionals" will probably get away with this horrible mistake.
