Cooper Creek Apartments

Cooper Creek appeared to be a great place to live when my husband and I moved in. We were thrilled with the upkeep of the place. Everything seemed clean and as good as could be. We felt it was a little over-priced, but were willing to pay any amount to be happy in a location near Fort Knox in order for him to commute to post every day for work.



Within one month of moving in, I was waking up with a rash on my body. I even went to the doctor to find out what was going on. Within two months of living at Cooper Creek, I had discovered a bed bug infestation in our apartment. I know that this is from the building and we did not bring the bugs with us!! The manager told us we had to pay for the exterminator. I refused. We lived out of plastic bags for 2 months there after and were exposed to nasty chemicals. We had to throw away THOUSANDS of dollars worth of nice bedroom furniture. It was a terrible experience!! I know these units are bed bug infested because people were CONSTANTLY throwing away bedroom furniture and couches. The management trys to keep everything hush hush, but the Orkin van is always parked outside and visiting different units. It's disgusting.



My husband received orders to deploy to Afghanistan. These orders by law are enough to get us out of any lease. The lady in the office would not accept it when we asked to leave with 2 weeks notice. Again, this is required by law!! She told us we had to pay a full months rent instead of pro-rated which was BS. Additionally, we asked to do a walk through with the manager on our move out date. We are very clean people and the apartment was in the exact same shape as when we moved in 6 months prior. We waited 2 hours for her to show up and she never did. There for, we were unable to do our walk through to dispute any charges. We moved out May 10-- it is now mid July and we still have not received any paperwork on our walk through, or a check for our deposit. I have called multiple times to ask about this, and always get the runaround. My husband and I are extremely upset and feel very taken advantage of by Cooper Creek. They are crooks, and everyone should know! Do not live here!!
