Great introduction to Turkey

Our 15 day trip with Troy Tours was everything and more than we could have expected. Turkey is a rich and beautiful country with so much history. Our transportation, driver, hotels and meals were all first class. Our guide, Volkan, deserves special mention. Volkan was so knowledgeable on the history of his country. Volkan met all the needs of all his passengers with patience and grace throughout our journey. We all came home with many treasures. Thank you, Troy Tours, for making this such an enjoyable experience. It was flawless.

15 Day Classic Turkey Tour with Troy Tours

My husband and I took the 15 day Classic Turkey Tour in September of 2012 based on a TripAdvisor review. The tour was a great value. Prices included 4 and 5 star hotels with great locations. The food was excellent and choices appealed to all tastes. However, the shining point of the tour package was that included all sightseeing and admission fees, nothing was optional. We had a very informative English-speaking guide (Yeliz) with a firm grasp of Turkish history and culture. She was an absolute treasure. We highly recommend this tour without any hesitation.

When my husband and I first decided to go to Turkey for our vacation this past fall, we opted to go on our first organized tour, and made the decision to book with Troy Tours.

I must preface this review by saying we have always traveled overseas independently using rental cars, trains, cruise ships or taxis. This had always enabled us to set our own pace and our own itinerary.



But since we were going to Turkey, I felt somewhat more comfortable to book an escorted tour. Also, I must admit, my knowledge of the geography, history, and culture of this region was fairly lacking, compared with Western Europe, and hoped that by going on a tour, we would have an opportunity to learn much about this fascinating country. So with a degree of apprehension, we decided this was the trip to try out a tour.



From my very first phone call, inquiring about the tours available, to the beautiful brochure they sent, to the informative and easy to navigate web page, I was impressed with the professionalism of the company. I checked out on my own the hotels used on their trips and they all appeared to be first class. I researched the destination and decided their Turkey tour seemed nicely paced and included many extras which would have been difficult for us to attain on our own.



They arranged our transportation to Istanbul, Turkey from Atlanta International Airport. We had to change planes in Chicago but both legs of the trip went very smoothly .



We had prearrangements through Troy Tours to have someone meet us at the airport to take us to our hotel in Istanbul. A tour representative welcomed us and she introduced us to the driver who promptly took us to our first hotel. We had also made arrangements to arrive a day earlier than when the tour started, since the welcome dinner was at 6:00 PM and our flight didn’t arrive until 4:00PM. We wanted to have some time to relax, do a bit of city exploring on our own, and adjust to the time change (7 hours ahead) before meeting up the next day with the tour group. I was very glad we had decided to give ourselves this extra day in Istanbul

We read a review of Troy Tours on Trip Advisor and decided to book a 4 hour

private Ephesus excursion with Troy Tours. We are glad we did. Our guide “Deniz”

was waiting for us promptly upon disembarkation. He was very knowledgeable

about the historical sites with commending English. The transportation was luxury Mercedes Van. We were one of the first parties leaving the port. This early departure allowed us to tour Ephesus before the weather got hot. On the way back the ship we stopped at the Sirince Village and had some time to shop. This tour cost us slightly more than the regular group tours but it was well worth it. We would like to thank Troy Tours for arranging this great Ephesus excursion for our family. We were on the Splendour of The Sea.

We visited Istanbul during our Christmas break. We purchased a packed deal "Istanbul city package" from Troy Tours, located in Los Angeles. Our Istanbul tour package included airfare from Chicago, transfers, private tours and accommodations. We were very pleased with the services of Troy Tours before and after the purchase. While we were in Istanbul they really took care of us very well. The accommodations were satisfactory and the weather was unusually warm for December. Our kids loved the Grand Bazaar and also "Beyoglu" street with its cable cars. However, it was bit crowded for me and my wife. Over all it had been a great family experience. We highly recommend Istanbul and Troy Tours.

My wife, Lynn, and I recently returned form your tour of Classic Turkey (November 6 through 19, 2009) that was booked through Troy Tours in California. We had a wonderful time on our tour. Turkey is a fascinating country with beautiful and varied landscapes, interesting sights, delicious food, and warm, friendly people. While we have avoided packaged tours in the past because of the horror stories that we have heard from friends, your tour exceeded our expectations of enjoyment. The hotels were first rate, the tour bus was comfortable, and the itinerary afforded us an excellent view of the richness of the Turkish culture.



Our tour was particularly enhanced by our dedicated guide, Mr. Selçuk Sebilcioglu and conscientious driver, Ergoyan. It was quite apparent to everyone on the tour that Mr. Sebilcioglu has an in-depth knowledge of Turkish history, culture, and everyday life. Our inquisitive group was constantly bombarding him with questions about Turkey and he was always able to respond in a knowledge, direct manner. He went out of his way to make this a pleasurable trip for the entire group. He arranged dinners and extra events that were not part of the tour package; he made sure that everyone know the meeting times and places; he remained pleasant, friendly, and attentive. As far as I know, everyone on our tour was totally satisfied with every aspect of the tour. Our only complaint is that we would have liked better weather when we went to Ephesus; but what can you expect when you book a tour in mid-November.



We have recommended your tour to many of our friends who have viewed our many photos and 3 hour video. If any of them decide to take one of your tours, I hope they will be as fortunate as my wife and I were to have the excellent services of Mr. Sebilcioglu and our driver Ergoyan (Eddie, as we called him).
