J & O Tax Bookkeeping

I only went there to have my federal taxes taken care of. I was not really interested in having my state taxes done because I had not filed a state return for the year 2006 because I knew I owed and told Jonathan about it. When Jonathan finished my federal return, he surprised me with an "amended state return" stating that I had a refund coming to me for state taxes. I was at that moment overwhelmed with joy thinking Jonathan had found some type of loophole and I was going to get a refund from the state of Wisconsin. NO, actually what happened was, he stated on the "amended return" that I had "paid" an amount over what I owed by check. I got a letter from the state of Wisconsin saying that I am not entitled to a "refund" and instead I now owe taxes, penalties, and interest. I told him I did not file for the year 2006, so how could I of paid anything? Jonathan filled out an "amended return" for me so he would not have to put his signature on any line knowing that if he did, he would be accountable. This type of behavior goes against the grain of Ethics of what he is to uphold as a tax accountant. His help and advice are supposed to be in line with "My best interest" when clearly this is not the case. I am quite sure he is loved by the state of Wisconsin for that one. Sorry, he does not get my vote for Wisconsin Governorship (if that's what he's aiming for).
