I've driven by for years and always loved the name and the logo, and what southern Californian doesn't often crave family-style Mexican food? Well, I finally made it there last night, and El Arco did not disappoint: A dark interior, great margaritas, and a two soft taco combo that hit it out the park. Everyone was super nice. I judge a Mexican restaurant by its carnitas. El Arco Iris passes with flying colors. The haven't changed the place much since opening, and I hope they never do.

I love the guacamole and chip here.
The margaritas are creepers. After your 6-7 one, you start to feel a little buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The Mexican restaurants in Los Feliz and Silverlake don't quite do it for me, so I venture a little farther afield to this place for their carnitas (ordered crispy). It's very family-friendly (there's nothing hipster-cool about the decor), and while it's always bustling, I've never had to wait for a table. (they can also accommodate larger groups.)

This place has been here for over 30 years, serving some of the best Mexican food around. For breakfast, try their chilaquiles with salsa Verde, or the sopes rancheros. Their mole is rich and authentic. It is family owned and operated, so they take pride in their food and service.

I had been going to this restaurant for 30 years, when the restaurant was take over by the son it was not the same quality of food and service. I have not gone back and will not go back to this establishment
