Overall
Service

First time in here and it is just like your typical "mall" petstore. They keep the dogs in small pens and don't really seem to give them the attention they need. Their rescue dogs were discounted compared to the rest. 2 rescues pups were fighting and the owner of the store was on the phone with a costumer who had just bought from him. After screaming at the pups he said "this is what you get with rescues. I guarantee you wouldn't get this s*** with any of my pure breeds. I can sell you 965 of my purebreds like the one I sold you and this would never happen". They are in a tank that's too small. Clearly they just want money off them! Over 75% of the dogs if you look at them had mites. There was no skin on some of the muzzles of the pups... For his "prized purebreds" he didn't take much better care of and kept them in a small tank as well. A 5 month old healer mix, 6 month old Siberian Husky, and 6 month old bulldog all in a pen no bigger than 3 feet in each direction...do not buy here!

Buyer be aware! This place moved to Centennial. I walked into this store looking for a puppy and while the prices were double most places, the guarantee on the puppies seemed to make it worth it. Unfortunately the guarantee is too good too be true. My puppy had kennel cough, coccidia, Girardia and issues surrounding his reproductive system. When I reached out for help from Jenz the owner, he refused to pay for any treatments unless I went to Dearcreek, 1 hour from my house and my puppy needed weekly meds, check ups and labs. When asked if there was a way to work this out financial, the owner screamed and yelled at me, trying to accuse me of causing the health issues. He also asked me to just come get meds from him and he'd treat the puppy, clearly he is not a vet but had no issue behaving as one. It has taken two months and at least three hundred dollars, with the insurance the gave me, and finally my puppy is okay, minus the surgery he needs for his testicle. I love

trupanion, the insurance he came with. However, I would never buy from this

place again. My vet started that my puppy would have died had he remained in their care. The owner is severely mentally ill. Never again will I go there, nor will I ever use any part of my health guarantee because I'd rather pay it of pocket than be intimidated and verbally abused by Jenz.

Overall
great place to buy a pet

We love this place. The owner was so nice and cares for his pets and customers. We bought a mini poodle a couple of weeks ago and she is very healthy and happy. A couple of months ago we adopted a yorkie who was between the ages of 1-2 yrs old. He was very aggressive at times and even tried to attack our neighbor. As much as we loved him we just couldn't keep him so we returned him to the place that we adopted him from. Thats when we decided to get a puppy that we could train from the get go. I don't care what the other negative comments say about Perfect Pets, I can assure you, that you will get exactly what you paid for. If not, the owner will cover any costs that will get them healthy. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

the people taking care of this...

the people taking care of this business dont know how to handle business. i was referred by another pet store. i called to ask for directions and the person who naswered seem to be bothered by this. the information i was given was very vague. it took me half an hour and a lot of asking for me to find the store, they could have just told me that this place was inside the mall, instead of saying " bowles and wadsworth. ""HELLOOO" they are like 50 stores in that whole area, with diferent sections of the mall. once we were there, it took a long time to get what we wanted. also were buying a rat and who seemed to be the store manager wanted to make us buy stuff we didnt want. . we have had pet rats before and know how to take care of them

We bought our little girl from there yesterday. These people are the BEST I have ever dealt with. Buying our lil girl, they showed us what customer service should..going above and beyond, going that extra mile. Actually caring after the "sale" even though they don't have too,the choose too! We had some issues with our baby once we got her home,we texted them and received a very quick response. They were a tremendous help. Can't get that any place else! Thank you Rose!! Our Ginger thanks you too!! You were a lifesaver tonight!!

Our families have gotten multi...

Our families have gotten multiple pets from here, even back when it was pet city. All of them were perfectly healthy until we bought our new puppy. He had kennel cough at first and they wouldn't let him come home till he was completely better. We brought him home and he wouldn't eat and began to cough worse. We called Jens multiple times and brought him back to the pet store so they could take care of him. After a week again we brought him home. This time he became worse. The vet told us he needed X-rays, but Jens said he did not believe in X-rays. Finally a few days later Jens took our puppy to the vet. His lungs ended up being two-thirds full of fluid and he had a low chance to live. If Jens had taken this poor puppy to the vet earlier he would have gotten better. Two months later the puppy is still sick and we have to give him four antibiotics a day. Jens has not called us again as I don't think he really cares about the puppy even though he is paying the vet bill. Its been an emotional ride and this dog could still die. Turns out he doesn't give X-rays to quite a few dogs as the vet told us. We did met a very nice girl while we were doing business and we know that she did care. She would text us everyday to let us know how he was doing and still checks in periodically. I would NOT come here again. This is dog abuse and we are the ones who have to nurse this dog back to health because we have fallen in love with him.

First of all NO busniess doesn...

First of all NO busniess doesn't have any problems what so ever. But Perfect Pets works hard to make sure all future pets are well taken care of. I have seen "Behind the Scenes" and no other store works as hard to make sure everyone is happy and healthy. Every animal gets a loving home, NONE are taken to shelters or given away to people that can't take care of them. I have seen how hard the kennel people work to keep areas clean and safe for the dogs. I don't think I have ever seen a time where someone wasn't filling food and water dishes or cleaning up poop or toys that weren't perfect and up to the Owner's standards.

Secondly all the "puppy mill" breeders everyone is talking about, don't stand a chance for this store. Jens has worked with the same breeders for at least 16 years establishing a strong relationship with them. All breeders are USDA certified and are CONTANTLY checked up on to make sure all pets are treated right.

As far as everyone thinking they "drug" thier puppies to sleep... Think about your babies, children, and any other young living thing... They don't have the stamina adults do.. They play hard for an hour or so then crash out, it's just the way of life. Perfect Pets does NOT drug thier dogs, THEY ARE PUPPIES FOR PETE'S SAKE!!! they play, eat, poop, AND SLEEP, just like any baby in the world.

My advice to any of the people trying to badmouth any store out there, especially a petstore like this one, do your research and ask questions before you just ASSUME something is wrong or bad. Things aren't always what they seem.

My family has purchased two do...

My family has purchased two dogs from Perfect Pets over the past six years, and a number of our friends and family have purchased dogs from this store. I can honestly say we have all had a positive experience in the overall health of the dogs and with the owner of the store.

Many people voice negative opinions about pet stores, explaining their position with uneducated mainstream ideas. If you visit other pet stores or kennels in the state, you'd realize that this particular store is very well taken care of. The puppies have playmates, comfortable bedding (not wire floors), and receive a lot of attention. Many say all pet store dogs are "puppy mill dogs" because it's an easy go-to phrase. The store would not be able to offer a full health guarantee if the breeders were unethical, you wouldn't get the owner's cell phone number. Animal shelters are full of dogs that come from irresponsible breeders, and many of them have physical or emotional issues that can be nearly impossible to break of their habits. If you buy a dog from a private breeder, what's to say they are breeding responsibly and can assure you 100% that their puppies will be healthy. For those who do not have the capacity to research or use common sense, a puppy can get "sick" no matter if it is in a private home, pet store, animal shelter, etc. Just like people and babies, they can get colds. Giardia is not something a dog can only "get from a pet store." A dog can get giardia at the dog park, from a lake or pond, or any place where dirty water or fecal matter may be present.

Most of these reviews contain trashy, band-wagon word vomit. It's apparent this store works very hard to maintain a clean, healthy, happy environment. And to those "puppy mill experts" that write reviews....your lack of knowledge shows through your pompous attitude. Get a damn brain.

This store is a great place to buy a pet!!! I have purchased several pets from Perfect Pets over the years, and I have only good things to say about this store and their employees. You can trust that the owner, Jens, will take care of you and your new family pet.

I bought my dog at Perfect Pet...

I bought my dog at Perfect Pets in southwest plaza after the owner knew I was looking for a puppy-dog and he called me a couple months later to tell me the perfect dog for my family had arrived. I went to the store and he was right! Our "Princess Fiona" is the perfect dog! She is a part of our family. We love this dog so much and feel that Perfect Pets matched this dog to my family perfectly. She has always been, and is in perfect health. I don't believe any of the bad reviews I have read whatsoever! This store was/is clean, the staff was friendly, informational and professional. All the animals are loved and cared for greatly. I told the owner recently that I'm wanting to get a 2nd dog. I wouldn't dream of getting my new puppy from any other place other than Perfect Pets. If I could rate PP at 10 stars, I would!!!!

NICE ANIMALS BUT BAD PEOPLE?

THE ANIMALS ARE IN SMALL CAGES THEY SHOULD HAVE A SING SAYING SOMETHING LIKE PLEASE DONT HURT, PICK UP, OR SCARE THE ANIMALS. THE PRICES ARE LIKE THE PRICES FROM DOG BREEDERS. TRY TO CALL THEM AND ASK FOR A LITTLE LOWER IN THE PRICE FOR THAT ONE SPECAIL ANIMAL!!!!REALLY ASK YOUR FAMILY TO GET A NEW FAMILY PET. THEN COME LOOK AT THEM ALL AND FIND ONE FOR U.

TO ALL THE MISUNDERSTANDING PEOPLE!!!

Let me explain. This pet store is one of the best I have ever stepped foot in. What people don't understand, is that every puppy in that store gets sold, and secondly they are constantly watched. The kennels are cleaned every morning and taking care of by one kennel person at all times throughout the day. The dogs are constantly watched and put on meds IMMEDIATELY when noticed there sick. People think that because its a pet store its automatically bad before they even open there eyes to take a detailed look. They have a lot to handle working there, 500 people go through that store a day and they have dogs, cats and reptiles to take care of. 2 people on sales, one on reptiles, and one on kennels. I can tell you now, I have never seen a more well kept pet store ever. And I would like all those "ANIMAL LOVERS" to try and run there own pet store before they start running there mouths. The owner has worked hard and making that store what it is for 15 years. I have owned dogs and cats, reptiles my whole life I LOVE animals, and my dog that I bought from there is the best I've ever had. So to all you "animal lovers" before you post something regarding another horrible pet store, please go back and ask questions, and open your eyes! Take a good look before you try and be a critic.

Thank you! I really appreciate the fact that you understand the enormous amount of work it takes to take care of our store and that you notice the hard work and dedication we put into it. I am the owner and I really appreciate your sincere compliment instead of the usual bashing I take from animal welfare type extremists. Jens Larsen owner

PUPPY ABUSE!!!

Today was a bad day for some little cocker spaniel puppy, who was trying to get out of his pen....he was repeatedly hit on the head ( with a fist) by a aggravated employee, the employee got mad cause the puppy jumped out, he took the puppy to the back and then brought the puppy back in the pen.....hmmmm did he drug the dog, or smack him around? who knows....but keep an eye out on these guys.....the manager also has a foul mouth when dealing with being confronted.....NOT AT ALL GOOD!!! Watch this store close......the people running it are not pet oriented.....

Terrible!

I have never seen so many puppies in one pet shop before. They have too many dogs crowded together in small plexi glass cages. Some of the pups are quite old. Please complain about this pet shop until they start caring about their pets more than their profits.

Boycott this store!

Sincerely,

Local mom and pup lover
