On February 8, 2017 my son had been having a sore throat and cough with a fever for 2 days so I called to make an appointment. The person that answered said that they normally don't see patients with a low grade fever for less than 3 days. I mentioned that he had a history of having strep throat. She allowed me to make an appointment to get just a strep test, so I did. We went in and that is what they did - a strep test and basic vitals. At that time he was running a 100.6 degree temperature. This was apparently not a concern to the nurse. The rapid strep test was negative. During the weekend my son continued to suffer with the "low grade" fever and cold sores. On February 13, Dr. Julie called and advised that the culture that was performed with the rapid strep test was also negative. She was very pleasant and advised me that there were some "nasty" viruses out there. She stated that if my son continued to have problems through the week that I should have him seen. She never offered to have me bring my son in for her to see him - up to this point no doctor had seen him. The fever had now been going on for a week; I was disappointed. I had my son seen at King Soopers Little Clinic where they evaluated him having an ear infection and started him on antibiotics, still stating that a virus may be the root cause. Had Healthy Habits seen my son when I first called he might not have had to suffer the entire week and miss school for a whole week.

Overall

Dr Mike is a fantastic doctor as well as a wonderful person. He is caring both inside and outside his office. Definately check out this practice!

Sincerely,

Shelley Bronson
