Established in 1975, the Arkansas Spinal Cord Commission is a state agency that works to administer programs to identify and meet the lifelong needs of people with spinal cord disabilities. It works with a team of more than 10 staff members. The agency serves the residents of Arkansas. The Arkansas Spinal Cord Commission administers Camp Aldersgate, which is a camp program for children with spinal bifida and related spinal cord disabilities. The agency also organizes several educational workshops. It maintains an equipment recycling center. The Arkansas Spinal Cord Commission additionally provides a long-term attendant care program. The agency administers a peer support program.
