Did you know that the Arkansas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics has a developmental delays toolkit to help parents navigate the early intervention system in Arkansas? If your child needs therapy or other services, there are some programs available at little or no cost to you, and this new website will tell you about four ways you may be able to get support, how much each costs, and how you can get started. The programs and services explained are as follows...
Primary Care
Jennifer joined our staff in 2015. She received her bachelor of science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a master’s in nursing from UAMS. Her experience ranges from working in the Level III NICU at Arkansas Children’s Hospital to providing primary care in a clinic setting. Jennifer spent much of her clinical training working with LRPC physicians, and we are thrilled to have her back with us on a permanent basis.
Emergency Care
For emergencies, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you need to speak with us outside normal business hours, please call our after hours number at (501) 377-1113.
Infectious Diseases
Dr. O’Neill joined us in 2003 following a residency at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where he also served an additional year as chief resident and specialized in infectious diseases. Dr. O’Neill is a 1997 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He and his wife, native Arkansan Ashley Cockrill O’Neill, are the parents of three children.
Electrocardiogram
If your physician recommends that your child see a specialist, we have referral staff to help with those arrangements. For diagnostic procedures, such as scans, EKGs, or other testing, the physician’s nurse will make those arrangements. It is very important that we have correct contact information so that we may reach you concerning these appointments and procedures.
Immunizations
We have access to the Arkansas Department of Health’s immunization registry and can provide an official shot record upon request. Call the office and ask for medical records or reach out to us via the patient portal. We can mail you a printed copy or email you an electronic copy, whichever you prefer.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Children diagnosed with ADHD typically have difficulty controlling impulses and are often hyperactive and inattentive. These symptoms can lead to trouble at home and school when a child with ADHD talks excessively, interrupts others, becomes easily distracted and has difficulty completing tasks. They often are unable to remain seated or control their behavior. Many of these children have a hard time forming friendships with other children or performing well academically, despite usually having normal or above average intelligence. Symptoms of ADHD usually show up before the age of 5 and tend to peak in severity around age 7 or 8. ADHD often runs in families, and children with ADHD have a higher chance of also being diagnosed with anxiety, depression, oppositional behavior or other learning disorders.
Mental Health
At each well visit we encourage parents and or older patients to complete an age appropriate screening questionnaire aimed at identifying developmental delays, mental health concerns, or any other family need impacting our patient's health status.

Radiology
Little Rock Pediatric Clinic is hiring a Medical Assistant to prepare patients for office visits as directed by the supervising physician; administer immunizations and other treatments/services under the direction of physicians; process all referrals for special services, such as radiology and other diagnostic testing, in a timely manner; communicate with parents/guardians regarding follow-up appointments; document all referral-related information; ensure that patients are referred to in-network specialists; track results of outside testing for timely follow-up; ensure that vaccines and other medications are stored properly; ensure that appropriate documentation regarding patient services is maintained according to policy; process patient related correspondence for supervising physician; act as liaison between physician and patient as needed.

Skin Cancer
It’s finally here... summer! Time to hit the pool, go to camp, and play outside way past bedtime. This month I will be addressing one problem that can put the brakes on fun- sunburn! As pediatricians, we love preventative medicine, and the best way to tackle a sunburn is to prevent it. Sunburns can happen in people of all skin colors. They just occur faster in people with lighter skin. Preventing sunburns now can prevent skin cancer in the future, and pain and suffering in the present.

Summer is right around the corner! So even though school is still in session, it’s not too early to start gathering those camp physicals, sports physicals, shot records, and any other documents needed to get ready for the NEXT school year.
Occupational Therapy
Early Intervention Day Treatment: This program is for children birth to 21 years old who have developmental disabilities, delays, or other health problems. It provides screening, evaluation, developmental therapies such as speech and occupational therapy, and more to help them. For more info, click here.
