Homesteads Grill and Taphouse

I ate at Homestead's in July of 2014 with my son. The waitstaff was extremely friendly and efficient on the day we went. The cheese biscuits are really good! However the entrees were extremely mediocre, especially for the amount of money paid. The rice was really soggy and watery. My fish was undercooked. We will never eat there again.

Go to Homestead regularly. The food is good. Some to the mid upper end, some to basic fare. Salads have been fresh, Steaks have been tender. Ribs are fall off the bone, with a decent market sauce. The PORK steak is thick cut and done to perfection. Our waitress' and waiters have been very accommodating and able to assist with any custom orders or changes in sides. The cheese biscuits have been tender and moist. The Manager on duty has always stopped by our table to speak with us. We have asked to be seated away from the bar area each time and they have done so. We have had zero wait time for seating, and the wait staff has been right there for our drink orders. A local home style interior, very comfortable.. The only disappointment I have had, is they have stopped carrying their Apple dumpling with raspberry sauce and fresh ice cream.

Went to this place and ordered, when I tried to place order was told the selection was no longer offered. OK, selected something else and found the service to be very slow, and very unorganized. I said i will give it one more try and I did this weekend for mother's day. Ordered and when it came, was told that the side I had ordered they were out of. We did not get bread due to oven being broken. This is a new resturant and they do not have a clue how to serve, and present, and the prices are not good. The people running it need to wake up before they run it out of business. CLUELESS!

Lunch on Monday- parking lot full. Decor is Mid-Century Hospital Waiting Room. No art to speak of except a hurricane photo in the dining room. (Hurricane Andrew wiped out the owners' tomato farm.) Cuban Chicken salad. Not very Cuban, but the chicken was good. Overloaded with spring mix. Every LOL (little old lady) was walking out with a styrofoam box. Homesteads seems destined to be the place where all the LOLs go after church, where the Rotary Club meets, and where you take a girl on a first (and probably last) date. P.S.- the bill was wrong.
