Kidney Stones
In many people, gout initially affects the joint of the big toe, but many other joints and surrounding areas can be affected, including insteps, ankles, heels, knees, wrists, fingers, and elbows. Chalky deposits of uric acid can appear as lumps under the skin that surrounds the joints and covers the rim of the ear. Uric acid crystals can also collect in the kidneys and cause kidney stones.

We also offer radiographic imaging, nerve conduction testing, as well as ultrasound guided injection therapy, infusion therapies, clinical research programs, and so much more. Offering so many services and procedures in our office enables our rheumatologists to provide a diagnosis and customized treatment plan as quickly as possible.
Radiology
We offer a variety of x-rays and bone density scans right here, saving our patients an additional trip to the hospital or diagnostic center. Our radiology department, staffed by ARRT registered technologists, provides general x-rays, with an emphasis on joint imaging, as well as Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry scans that measure bone mineral density. These images are essential to the assessment and treatment of osteoporosis, and are read by Board-certified physicians and Certified Clinical Densitometrists.
