They sell fake warranties watch out they lie and tell you things are covered that aren't then never give you a replacement, and they target younger people who don't know anything.

Store appearance looked messy and dirty, so I should have known better, but I left some new curtains for pressing anyway. Big mistake, they were returned to me shrunk and wrinkled, not once, but four times. After the fourth time, enough was enough and I requested a refund. Store personnel responded by telling me they were just watching the store for someone else and flat out refused to give me any assistance or a person to call to resolve the situation. Additionally, she was rude, and along with a couple of children running around the store, I left until I could contact someone in management that could. After two days, still trying. Management needs to look at the situation at this store, start with the employees, and start understanding the needs and wants of the customer.

Hello, all I would like to say I myself have been going to Larysaa since she was attending hair school. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. Sure you might have a wait but you will not be unhappy when you leave out the salon. I get nothing but good compliment with everyy style she has done. She continues that to this day. She is truly wonderful at what she does and there is no expression of gratitude or appreciation that could equivalate all that she gives to her clients. If you had a breakage maybe it was from whom ever you were going to before. Laryssa keep up the the good work.

I WISH THAT I HAD SEEN ALL THE BAD REVIEWS OF THIS PLACE BEFORE I WENT. HALFWAY THROUGH MY STYLE I WAS TOLD THAT SHE DID NOT HAVE TIME TO FINISH MY HAIR. SHE SEEMED TO CARE LESS ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE, MY FEELINGS AND HER REPUTATION AS A STYLIST. MY HAIR LOOKED AWFUL. I LEFT WITHOUT PAYING AND THAT WAS THAT. THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST CLASSLESS PLACE I HAVE BEEN TO. SO SAD.

I don'tknow who this person is but she definitely did not enter Essence and in anyway was treated the way she suggested. Not only is Laryssa top notch that she is wanted in the Tri County area, the other hair stylists and barbers as well are FANTASTIC. She does promote healthy hair as I have wanted some things done to my hair and she would not do it. Laryssa treats everyone like family. She is a beautiful person and so down to earth. I would not go any place else. Keep up the good work Essence!!!!! I'm proud of you.

I have been a customer of Essence for over 10 years, in specific a customer of Laryssa's, the owner of Essence and I just find this review so hard to believe. Now if the complaint was about talking to customers too long some times, then I could believe this.



Laryssa is a wonderful beautician who promotes healthy hair. She prefers to keep the heat out of your hair. So I find it very hard to believe that she burned anyone's hair from leaving the curlers in too long. I have seen customers come in with very badly damaged hair return back in a few months with nice healthy hair. She is very good with catering to the many different hair types as to which product or salon treatment would work best for that type of hair. She communicates well with her customers and will sit you in her chair, turn you to the mirror and show you the problem with your hair and explain how the problem can be corrected. She even makes recommendations on what products would work best for your hair type.



In being a customer for sooo long, I have received chemical treatments, cuts, add-ins, braids, and have never had a problem with my hair being burned, breaking, or damaged. I am a customer who frequents this shop every other week and have received nothing but highly satisfactory service!!



I am sorry that this person had a bad experience and it makes me want to question if your appointment was actually with Laryssa at Essence Beauty and Barber????

MY SISTER AND I DECIDED TO HAVE OUR HAIR DONE HERE, BIG MISTAKE! I SCHEDULED WITH LARISSA AND SHE BURNT MY HAIR UP! I GOT A BLOW OUT AND A CURL AND I COULD SMELL MY HAIR BURNING! I ASKED HER NOT TO LEAVE IT ON SO LONG AND SHE SAID" IT'S FINE" A FEW DAYS LATER, MY HAIR STARTING BREAKING OFF IN CLUMPS, SHE BURN'T IT UP.SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE OWNER OF THAT SHOP, BECAUSE SHE WAS VERY NASTY.WHEN I CALLED TO COMPLAIN, SHE STARTED TELLING ME HOW MUCH SHE MAKES A YEAR AND GOING ON ABOUT HOW SUCCESFUL SHE IS. WHAT A JOKE!I REALLY THINK WHAT KIND OF A PERSON YOU ARE IS MEASURED BY HOW YOU TREAT OTHERS, AND THE OWNER OF ESSENSE IS LOW IN MY BOOK.DON'T EVER GO THERE!I HAVE NEVER VISITED A SALON THAT WAS SO UNPROFFESSIONAL.
