Aj's Family Steakhouse

Just really sad. 1 disappointment after another. Runny mac-n-chs, soupy mash potato, bitter iced tea, etc. There was a serious lack of plain old salt & pepper season in the food. I would have been dissatisfied with it at any price, at $30 for 2 people I was insulted.

Food is horrible, the tea gets saved over night, so it's sour the next morning, and management takes the server tips, the servers only makes 2.13hr

Totally sucks. Food not cooked fully, Over priced no food on bar, was told it takes ten minutes to prepare more food , waitress left the building. Not to mention high priced. AJ's you got my last $$ not visiting again.

The food was real bad and we paid a high price just to walk out and not eat it just to go home and eat. I'm real disappointed.

I love this family style restaurant. Since my teenage years I've been coming here. The country cooking is good and the waitresses are real kind and tend to your needs. The place is clean. Never had a problem with cleanliness.

The last time I went their cleanliness was on average of any other family-oriented restaurant, perhaps even a little better. Their salad bar has everything you expect a salad bar to have plus things you wouldn't. Their actual buffet items are surprisingly really good. (Mashed potatoes and the Mac n' Cheese is a must.)



The only down side I can find is that some of their sides do come from cans, but every restaurant does that in Lenoir. (Speaking as one that has worked or had family work for Fatz, Sagebrush, Wal-Mart Deli and Mayflower, expecting otherwise would be foolish.)

"STOP" DON'T EAT HERE! NASTY, NASTY,NASTY!!!! I am not a restaurant snob but I have a family of five and care about the cleanliness and health of my family and price this place is gross and pricy with the smallest bar and salad bar I have ever seen it had FLIES and everything was sticky and dirty and the BATHROOMS ARE HORRIBLE!!! the macaroni and cheese glowed it was so orange and what food I picked out tasted like it came straight out of a can . WE ALL LEFT HUNGRY A SALAD BAR OF 4 WAS $30 PLUS DOLLARS if you order a steak the salad bar doesn't come with it . hope this was helpful
