Teeth Cleaning
Fluoride Treatment
A. Patients should brush their teeth at least four times each day – after each meal and before going to bed. We will also show you how to floss your teeth with braces, and we may provide a prescription for a special fluoride treatment, if necessary.

Crowns
A wire engaged in orthodontic attachments, affixed to the crowns of two or more teeth and guides the direction of tooth movement.
Dental Bonding

Dentures
Brush your removable appliance every day as a part of your regular brushing and flossing schedule. Because food particles and plaque can accumulate on your appliance just as they do on your teeth, soak the appliance daily. Dissolve a denture-cleaning tablet in a glass of tap water at room temperature, and soak your appliance once a day.

Orthodontics
Dr. Scott Francois was born in Denison, Iowa, the youngest of nine children. While in junior high school, he moved to Springfield, Missouri, with his family. That is where he completed high school, graduating from Kickapoo High School in 1991. He attended college at Southwest Missouri State, where he studied biology and chemistry, before earning early acceptance into the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Francois completed dental school in 1999, earning a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. He then pursued post-doctoral training in orthodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he earned a Certificate in Orthodontics. During his training, he met Dr. Blackwell and Dr. Nill, who were instructors in the program.

Braces
Now that your braces are in place, it is very important to maintain a good oral hygiene regimen throughout the length of your treatment. Braces, wires, bands and retainers can all trap food particles and make it difficult to brush or floss away plaque. Careful brushing and flossing, preferably after every meal and snack, is the best way to prevent plaque build-up, tooth decay and gum disease.
