Dr. Claudia C Mc Allaster, MD

Dr. McAllaster is very knowledgeable, good with my kids and they love her!

I've been taking both of my girls to Dr. Claudia since they were born. She is great with the kids, takes her time when them, and knows what she is doing. I would not even consider taking my kids to another doctor in the area.

I grew up in Leavenworth and was a patient at one of the busiest practices (which still is quite "popular" to this day) in the town. Due to the way my parent and I were rushed around that office (after the longest waits) and often misdiagnosed, I knew my own children would go to a different practice. In 2010, with the birth of our first child, we chose Dr. McAllaster based on friends' recommendations. This was the BEST choice for our family. As first time parents, she was patient with our concerns, educating us along the way (I in no way pretend to even know it all now, three children in to this parenting gig), and helping us to get more comfortable with our parental intuition. Had we not moved from the area, she would still be my children's pediatrician. Sure, there is little to no wait in her office. I do not equate that to lack of patients, as some have surmised, but rather the ability to accurately schedule appointments and NOT be greedy with collecting as many co-pays as possible in a day. I also cannot commend the support staff enough. They do not gossip about their patients (as I have heard on more than one occasion from the other offices in town) and they treat your child with care. Top notch care for both well-baby/child check-ups and those unfortunate circumstances when your son or daughter is ill.

I've read other ratings and everyone has mentioned a short waiting time. Well in my case I've waited 45 mins- 1hr, just to see her. I'm new to the area and I've just started going to her due to having my son in April. Everytime i've gone in she acts like im retarded making me repeat myself. Then she got an attitude on my voicemail. I will be seeing a new family doctor. I will not be talked down to like i'm retarded.

I am one of the few Single Fathers in the area and my Son is 3. Like everyone would say about their own children - I'm going to say it now - My Son is Brilliant!!! I will give him credit first for being a wonderful child... Then I will give myself some credit for being the best Dad- Only when due! Dr. Mcalaster knows and says that my Son is VERY smart - she has seen alot of kids. She also commends me as a great father/parent - Compared to the majority of parents. She is very honest and definately a fascinating Doc. For all that dislike Claudia - I believe she was honest to you and your children - Your feelings got hurt. Well, here is my suggestion - Be a BETTER parent before you blame a Doctor for you and your children's issues. Putting blame on someone else shows that you Fail... and your children will fail for learning that from YOU!

Anyone who dislikes Dr McAllaster most likely is not being a good parent. She has very high standards for behavior and lifestyle. I'm always pleased with her bedside manner and diagnostics and exams. She will be our pediatrician for as long as we live here. Oh and her nurse is so personable.

This doctor does not rush through her exams. She doesn't over schedule and is very accessible. The staff is very nice and my kids enjoy going there.

I took my son to Dr. McAllaster and found her to be rude, insensitive and arrogant. Perhaps if this woman had ever had kids, she would understand what it is like for a parent who has a sick child. Do yourself and your children a favor and pick one of the more caring and skilled pediatricians in town. Any wait in their offices will be worth it.

My mother took me to Dr. McAllaster. I have no fond memories of my trips to her. She made me feel inferior. I am an adult and mother now and I take my kids elsewhere. I never considered taking my children to Dr. McAllaster. I would never subject them to her demeaning ways.

About the only positive thing I can say about Dr. McAllaster is that same day appointments in her office are easy to come by. Like the reviewer before me I can only speculate that it is due to her lack of patients. Dr. McAllaster enjoys making people feel inferior. When I take my child to the doctor I expect the physician to at least act like they care, or at the least seem to like children, Dr. McAllaster does not. When I bring my child in with a high fever, I do not want the doctor to be pushing routine immunizations. When I want immunizations I will schedule a well child exam. When they are sick I would appreciate the illness being addressed.

Also, heaven forbid if your child touches the doctor's stool or wants a different sticker than the one she offers, the woman becomes unglued and will yell at your child.

I must say having switched doctors, that the wait I experience at my new pediatrician's office is a small price to pay for a caring doctor who treats my child and myself with respect.

Claudia is not only condesending, but tries to get you to say what she wants to hear. She has misdiagnosed both of my children. She is great with my kids, but acts like I am an idiot, which is far from the truth. The previous reviewer is right about the length of waiting and the ease of getting into the office. That makes me wonder why. Is it maybe because she doesn't have many patients that want to see her?

I went to Dr.McAllister for 9 years myself, now I take my daughter. The wait is always under 10 minutes and she gets to the point in a friendly manner. My daughter is an infant and she always gets in within hours of my call if shes sick. I will always go to Dr. McAllister in the future.
