Fillings
Resin Composite
The two most common materials used in the manufacture of dental veneers in Las Vegas are composite resin and porcelain. Composite Resin is a white colored material used when bonding teeth that often serves as an inexpensive and effective restoration for small chips and cracks in the teeth. It can often be done same day in office. For more severe cases of dullness, wear, discoloration, mild chipping, cracking, spacing, or uneven teeth, dental porcelain veneers may be recommended as a more appropriate solution. Veneers do have the added benefits of longevity and a proven ability to enhance the appearance of the mouth, smile, and possibly other areas of an aged face that would be better supported by properly shaped teeth.

Veneers can change the alignment, shape, shade, and overall aesthetics of a client’s current dentition. Crowns
A CROWN is a custom made porcelain cover placed over a tooth that is badly damaged or decayed. Crowns may be placed for several reasons, but generally the tooth has been extensively damaged by decay or breakage and filling material can’t replace the missing tooth structure and make the tooth strong enough. A crown may hold together parts of a cracked tooth and can be used to hold a bridge in place. Crowns also are used for cosmetic purposes to cover misshapen or badly discolored teeth.
Bridges
A BRIDGE is the equivalent of 3 crowns (or more) attached together. It is used to replace one or more missing teeth. The typical bridge consists of a pontic (a filler tooth) that is attached to two surrounding crowns (abutments). Once complete, this appliance is permanently cemented in the mouth and cannot be removed. Without the use of a bridge, spaces in the mouth from missing teeth can cause multiple teeth to shift, lead to biting and/or jaw problems and may spur periodontal disease. Dental bridges safeguard the integrity of existing teeth and help maintain a healthy, vibrant smile.

Deep Cleaning

Dentures
There are three basic types of partial dentures. The first is a cast removable partial denture, or “cast partial”, and consists of a metal base that has acrylic teeth attached to it. Metal clasps are the hook-like structures that help hold the removable partial denture in place. Although the cast partial can be a bit cumbersome, it has been used successfully for decades in the dental profession. The second type of removable partial denture is the all-acrylic variety, sometimes referred to as an interim (temporary) removable partial denture or a “flipper”. The third type is the “Valplast” partial denture, which is a nylon thermoplastic material that has several advantages over the other two types of partial dentures. The Valplast partial dentures have no metal clasps and are very light weight. The material is translucent, so the patients own gums show through, giving a very natural appearance. Valplast partial dentures can be used to replace many or few missing teeth, and can even be modified to replace a missing tooth on only one side of the mouth, greatly enhancing its comfort. Valplast is an option for people who are allergic to the acrylic found in other types of partial dentures. Another great advantage is its resistance to breakage, as it is surprisingly strong relative its size and weight.

Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason. While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support. At Bella Smiles, Dr. Chawla makes every effort to save a tooth if possible. Sometimes, however, teeth cannot be saved and need to be removed. The most common reason for extracting a tooth is tooth damage due to breakage or decay. Some other possible reasons for tooth extraction could include extra teeth blocking other teeth from coming in, preparation for orthodontic treatment or insufficient space for wisdom teeth to grow in. Some extractions are simple and can be done quickly and painlessly, with little recovery time.
