I was recently a patient at Abbey Dental. I went for free exam and exrays.

My neighbor is a patient and highly recommended the hygienist. I waited 3 hours to get through the process but found it was worth the wait. I needed a deep cleaning and the hygienist was the most thorough, professional I have ever had. She was friendly and did a great job. She assured me the dentists were very good and I will be going back for all my dental needs.

Myra is a perfectionist, I was very pleased with her work. The first time I came in the assistant wasn't as good as her. I also like Dr. Houlton very much, they make a great team. I will be a patient from now on and I will recommend family and friends.

The wait is always more than a...

The wait is always more than an hour. They try to up sell you into work you do not need. Under orders of the owner sell sell sell! They would not fill a tooth because they said it needed a root canal when it didn't... So I got it filled elsewhere. They up sold me into a bridge instead of fixing one small problem with one tooth. The bridges temporary fell out four times. The other temps while waiting for my crowns fell out right away on every job they did on my mouth. They told me I would not need a root canal for the bridge they sold me and installed. Then it was so sensitive it did need a root canal because the doctor took off too much of a good tooth. Got a root canal on the house. OK? Not! Because my bridge on the back molar is on a severe angle ripping out the filling above it because of the crown being defective. The edge of the outside part of the crown lines up dead center with the upper tooth and not near the edge like it is supposed to be. The bridges front tooth protrudes and made other teeth crooked.

Dr. Kotler is a really nice guy but works or worked for a scammer. Jamie is a nice manager and is helpful.... I hope they are helpful this week when I bring the attention of this on going problem to them. Last time I went back Dr. Kotler didn't work there any longer. I saw him at a pizza place on the West Side. He kept quiet as to why he isn't there anymore. I think he might of got caught up in the scandals or is avoiding the scam. I will have to bring this an attorney's attention for fraud and malpractice if this is not fixed on the spot in an hour or less. I have been putting in temporary filling from the store since March. I am tired of this bridges problems and the damage that it is doing. I want my upper tooth filled and the sharp edge of the crowns back molar filed down. The bridge is also on a severe angle as it pries the top filling out while chewing. I spent $5500.00 there and want this fixed/corrected %100 at no cost. Or I will have them investigated.

Too many patients not enough staff

Arrived at Abbey Dental one half hour prior to my appointment. They had seats for about twenty people and still it was standing room only for the additional people waiting to be seen. When they took me back they took a series of X-rays and sent me back to the waiting room. When they finally called me back to see a doctor I had already been there for a hour. The dentist didn't look into my mouth at all just at the X-rays. Then they sent me to make molds of my mouth. This is normally a fifteen minute process in most dentist offices. It too them over two hours.
The next day I had a question about billing. I have called six times left three messages and still haven't heard anything back from them. I cant help but have the feeling of being one of the cows headed toward slaughter. If you do decide to go here be prepared to do a lot of waiting for less than adequate service.

They wanted me to sign a paper...

They wanted me to sign a paper saying all my questions had been answered even before I talked to anyone!! This was my first time at an endodontist and I had lots of questions. I was told they wouldn't treat me unless I signed and then the girl told me I seemed upset so they refused to treat me. Of course I was upset but I wasn't getting mean or nasty or even raising my voice. I was in pain and so angry I grabbed my papers and walked out. I will never return here. I have my insurance send me somewhere else.
