My name is Erick. I drove from Montgomery,AL to purchase a 1999 Nissan Altima. I got there and test drove the car. It drove ok. I listened to the engine and there was a tapping noise coming from the valve train. The guy selling the car said it needed a valve adjustment. I figured with 120000 miles on it that was about right. I get the car home and put about 300 miles on it and it suddenly starts surging,losing power, and has loud scraping and rattling noise coming from the engine. I tow the vehicle back to my house and the valve train no longer makes noise, but I fear a valve or spring has fallen into the cylinder. I decide to call Wholesale Auto Mall and ask if there is anything they can do for me. They tell me I can bring the car back down to Tampa, 10 hours each way, and their mechanic will charge me what they are charged. I tell him I'm not pleased that a vehicle I paion $3700 for only got 300 miles. He then asks me "Would you be happy if it got 800 miles?"
