General Info
Massa Auto Pawn was founded in 1990 by Michael and Deborah Massa. Prior to starting what became Colorado's largest auto pawn, Michael was in the auto glass business for 27 years. (Remember Massa Glass, Inc.?) We were first attracted to the idea of starting an 'auto pawn' after learning there is a large segment of our society who do not deal with banks and have short term need for large amounts of cash. The first location was opened at 10th and Cherokee St. in Denver and by 1995 we had grown to 4 metro locations as well as locations in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. We want everyone to know what an auto pawn is and why it could be the best place for you to get large amounts of short- term cash. Since some vehicles do not get picked up, Massa has also become the best place to buy a moderately priced used car. Many people have an image of a pawn shop as a dark, filthy place where it might not be safe to go. This does not apply to an 'auto pawn' and certainly not to Massa Auto Pawn. Massa¿s locations are bright and clean used car dealerships where we also pawn cars, trucks, motor cycles, RV's, boats and jet skis. We also want everyone to know that we sell all types of vehicles because we pawn all types of vehicles. Cars, Trucks, Boats, Motorcycles, Jet Skis and Motorhomes are on display at all Massa locations. Massa has even offered Sail boats and heavy equipment like Dump Trucks and Front End Loaders for sale.

Overall
BEWARE

Bought vehicle from Massa and month later a head gasket was cracked and destroyed entire coolant system. I was hesitant to buy the car because engine was abnormally loud and i said i was uncomfortable buying it because i was afraid of a blown/cracked gasket. They assured me it was fine and just an engine mount issue. They kept vehicle overnight and "repaired" it because i said i wouldnt buy it with the noise. The following day the engine still made some noise but wasnt as bad. Reluctantly I decided to trust them.

A month after buying the car I have been broke down 16 times. Spent countless amounts of money on fluids and repairs. $700 for cracked head fix. $400 for entire coolant and temp sensor fix (which by the way had a recall and was used by "prior owner" but never actually replaced. they just got the cost reimbursment). Coolant system broke down again 3 weeks later and that was another $300. Ive spent probably $500 in home remedies and fluids just to make it to auto shop.

Coolant system broke down a 3rd time 3 weeks ago and i paid a friend of friend to fix it.

last week an oil pressure light came on and i was on side of road. Now car will not accelerate past 20mph on any sort of incline and when stopped makes the loudest noise ive ever heard come out of a car. It is embarassing.

Lemon Laws do not cover used vehicles or vehicles sold "as is". However there are consumer laws that I can use both state and federal that only require that the dealer verbally mislead you and failed to provide history of vehicle , even if you didnt ask for it. In colorado they are required to without inquiry.

On top of all of this. Massa had the audacity to remotely shut car off due to a minor Insurance descrepency (deductable on our insurance was one tier from massas required deductable).
