Overall

Walked in yesterday. Got in chair in under an hour (that is why it almost got a second star) the lady was nice. I asked for a "crew cut". She didn't know what I was talking about. I have been going to barbers since I was 5 both military and civilian in the Spring, Army and Alamosa and never once ran into one who didn't know what a "crew cut" was. Not a big deal, hey its not a military town but irritating. So I described it to her. What I got was something between a (crooked no less) flat top and a bald head nothing close to what I had described. When she showed me the mirror at the end there wasn't enough hair left to do anything but shave it bald when I got home. Maybe it was on me and my description. SO I let it go. Side note I told her that I had planned to take my full beard down to a go-t later so she didn't need to do anything with it. $15 for a shave, no thanks.. Good thing I planned to shave it because she weed whacked halfway down both cheeks and left that wreck uneven as well. Sigh... Then I tried to pay using my American express. (Lots of smaller places don't take amex so I make a point to check before committing. On the door there is a sticker that lists visa, master card, discover, one other I think AND amex. Cool we are in business) She tells me they don't take amex. I mention that there is a sticker on the door that hints that they do. She tells me that no there is not. (I can see the little blue sticker from where I am standing) Then the guy with the chair near the door snaps "We don't take American express!"... yeah heard it the first time... Fine not worth my time. I give the lady some cash get my change. No tip for a bad hair cut and leave thankfully never to return. I should have spent the $15 at walmart on some new clippers for the nice buzz cut that my wife gave when I got home. Of course after she laughed at me for my "jacked up" hair cut..

Overall
Best Haircut In Town

Some people tend to think that the barber shop is where you go if you want some old guy to do a total butch job on your head. Not so here! I got the best hair cut I have ever gotten anywhere. I had passed by frequently and noticed that Dan was doing cuts many times even after closing and was always busy. I had always gotten my hair cut at other places, but I like to support local businesses and decided to stop in. The chairs are old school, the barber (Dan) is really down to earth and laid back, and the service is second to none. I had never gotten a straight shave before, but always kinda wanted one so I also took advantage of the opportunity while I was there. I was a little wary of someone else using a blade like that on my face, but Dan was very confident and never drew blood once (which is incredible). Lastly, the price of service is very reasonable. I'll be going back for my next cut for sure. I didn't ask if he takes appointments, but it might not be a bad idea to check. He stays busy. He and his staff seem to handle the clientele in an efficient manner though.
