Chiropractic Adjustments

Subluxation
Our focus is on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of your health. Each visit, the integrity of your neuromusculoskeletal system is examined by the doctor as they look for vertebral subluxations that may be interfering with the normal neurological communication between your brain and the rest of your body. If interference is detected, the doctor will apply a gentle and specific force (an adjustment) to restore that proper balance and communication within your body.
Manipulation Therapy
In a Randomized controlled trial, 183 patients with neck pain were randomly allocated to manual therapy (spinal mobilization), physiotherapy (mainly exercise) or general practitioner care (counseling, education and drugs) in a 52-week study. The clinical outcomes measures showed that manual therapy resulted in faster recovery than physiotherapy and general practitioner care. Moreover, total costs of the manual therapy-treated patients were about one-third of the costs of physiotherapy or general practitioner care.
Pediatric Chiropractic
Dr. James received his Doctorate in Chiropractic from LCCW and returned to San Diego. Today he practices as part of a team at Essential chiropractic studio in La Mesa. He has a passion for helping families stay healthy and active through natural, holistic means. He is certified in the Webster Technique by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and loves to work with soon-to-be mothers and their children because he knows healthy children become healthy adults. Dr. James also has extensive experience with athletes and enjoys helping them optimize their performance and prevent injuries.
