Overall

A group of guys from this place came to replace a pool liner (round above ground) last summer for my mother in law. I came by that weekend to check it out, and found two partially burned cigarillos between the pool deck boards, clearly left by the workers. Less than a week later, the pool exploded at the seam.

My mother in law tried to call them the following day, and the owner (Jeff) was RUDE and yelled at her about calling his "men" unprofessional (I believe the cigar butts speak for themselves) and that the shell had existing damage.

Why didn't his "professional" expert installers warn my mother about the damage (they claim) that would ultimately cause the pool to collapse BEFORE installing the liner that would then again cover it so we again would not be aware of damage?

Why did the owner of a small business yell at and upset a customer when they called about a justifiably and OBVIOUSLY stressful situation that filled the neighbors' basement with water? Ultimately he was rude to her on the phone and offered no workable recourse for the money she wasted for this job.

Do we want to talk about professionalism?

It's unclear if there was existing damage to the metal she'll that caused the weakening, as it IS NOT VISIBLE WITH THE DECK AND LINER INSTALLED.

I expect a pool person to do the following in order for me to consider calling them any synonym of "professional", not consider calling a lawyer or the media, and be generally forgiving of what may or may not have been an oversight of his professional cigar-smoking staff:

1: inspect and notify homeowner of any damage to concealed parts before installing a high-tension rubber sock in it, re-concealing any damage and filling with thousands of lbs of water

2: pick up your litter and trash before leaving the worksite

3: be polite and understanding to homeowner who just lit (drowned) $1000 to your business and is understandably alarmed (and not rude to you) when calling

4: don't dodge phone calls from her son in law when he's trying to get in touch with you to discuss this ridiculous situation and your crappy attitude toward her.

She's having a new pool shell and liner installed by another company. The least this business could have done was offer a new liner since their installers did not properly inspect the work site before slapping a new liner in an (apparently?) unsuitable shell.

This business does bad work, does not ensure their work is placed and done to a suitable structure before walking away, and offers no efforts to resolve the situation amicably and even goes so far as to be rude and aggressive to the customer when contacted about the problem.

I'll not recommend this company for anything but one star reviews on every site I can locate. I'll not recommend contacting them unless you have a thick skin and enjoy abuse.

Hire them if you enjoy cigarillos. They'll share. Other than that, stay clear of this company who has no clue how to deal with people with maturity and class.
