Overall
Seriously, nobody has reviewed...

Seriously, nobody has reviewed these guys yet? What's wrong with the world? I basicly listen to 3 radio stations, WDVX, 100.3 (all talk in Ktown), and when I'm in Kentucky, HAY98.

WDVX is kind of a Ktown institution. My only real gripe with them is their transmitter goes on the fritz or something at times I can barely get them even though they're not far from me. They started out transmitting from a camper (in a campground...) some years back. They're also listener supported. Commercials every 5 minutes? Not here. These guys are real community radio.

Every weekday (and now Saturday) about lunchtime the have the Blue Plate Special which is live bands from the Ktown Visitor Center. It's a small stage with limited seating and it's surprising sometimes what bands (or artists) they get there. They also used to be at The Shed in Maryville all the time, but not sure anymore since it's been awhile since I've seen a concert there. They're at Tennessee Shines as well as The Square Room. They have alot to do with roots music in Ktown and thereabouts.

I like to listen to Rise N Shine with the one and only Freddy Smith and Cumberland Sunday Morning with Mike Kelly. I used to work with him, he really is a nice guy (and Christian). They play alot of bluegrass and roots (Americana) music, depending on the time of day. They're also online and broadcast worldwide, I've listened to them in Maryland when I was there on my internet phone.
