Overall

I strongly discourage Prodigal Primary Care. I was told that this facility was capable of performing a short procedure within the office involving a small toenail. I came to the office, paid my copay, saw a provider, and then was told that the facility is incapable of doing the procedure by the desk staff. I confronted the office manager asking for my money to be returned which was denied. The Prodigal Primary Care employee who scheduled my appointment lied to me about this office being able to do this procedure and the office manager refused to accept responsibility. Moreover, this office has Nurse Practitioners as well as Physicians Assistants. How is it even possible that this facility is incapable of obtaining forceps, scissors, lidocaine, and some gauze? Such an embarrassment for a place that calls itself a health care facility!

I moved here a year or so ago but have been going to my own doctor, running my kids to the pediatrician and making all these different appointments until I found this place- we can all go here and they are great. I feel like they really listen to me and take the time with my children (which is the really important part) and I would reccomend this place to my friends and family (and have!). My kids are older 6 and up so I don't know how young you can take them there but they are not shy about getting you a referral- my 10 year old was having stomach issues that they couldn't pinpoint and they got him in with a GI specialist in a week. I think they are great and am very happy with them as my primary care!

I am a new patient at prodigal primary care. I have to say they have a really nice office and a very kind and helpful office staff (except the lady that answers the phone not nice) anyway, as a new patient most doctors offices take time to get you back to see the doctor at least and hour or 2 but i was back in 30-45 min so the wait wasn't long. Intake was quick and painless the nurse was a very nice and caring lady made the process as painless as she could. Another thing I noticed is that the owner Dr. Bickhouse wasn't afraid to mingle with patients as he spent some time in the lobby chatting with them he seemed like a very nice man. Anyway after in take i was led into the patient room and asked by the nice nurse about my medical history. After she finished and left the room the PA came in I'd have to say that this was the more negative aspect of the visit as he was kind of a jerk but all in all did his job probably not having a good day or something. Physical examination took about 10 min and i was sent out to check out. Now the worst thing about this place is that even though I received decent medical care and was all together happy about the visit they are very disorganized they wrote me prescriptions for 2 weeks and scheduled me back in a month. lol. anyway I give this office 4 stars not a bad place to go a little far out of knoxville but over all my visit was positive they were helpful, kind (other than the PA and the lady on the phone), courteous, and listened to and concerns and problems i was having with and open mind and a solution after I was done explaining my health issue. I would recommend to friends and family.
