This has to be the saddest excuse for a 'medical center' I have ever seen. The rooms are not clean and have dried up things on the floor that have been infused with dirt and hair. Doesn't even look like anyone even attempted to actually clean it. The exam tables in the room have cracks and holes in them, some are covered with duct tape and those are rolling up. You can visibly see black bacteria in the large cracks. There's small chunks of something on the step getting up to the table too. There is a bio-hazard can that has yellow drips down the side with tubing of some kind hanging out of the top. There are splashes and drips down the walls and behind exam tables. I didn't want to touch anything. I know in between patient's, they just change out the paper on the exam table, but do nothing else.

The staff can't pronounce most medications (fairly simple ones too), nor can they input medical histories correctly on their computer (there were things in my record that I have never had). Some have a hard time even filling out basic things on the computer, like height, weight, blood pressure and so on. Nor do they have any idea how to look things up in your chart before asking the same questions over and over when all they have to do is just read. They completely messed mine up and made me two medical files. When the staff called my insurer for verification, she yelled out my social security number at least 3 times and it could clearly be heard in the waiting room (there were several people waiting as well). I brought this to her attention and all she could do was just look at me, she couldn't even talk, say 'I'm sorry' or anything. They also ran out of the Tetanus vaccine.

The first two times I went, I wanted to see the doctor. I got the PA instead, which isn't all that competent-not professional at all and hard to understand. The wait times are unreal. I had a 10:00am appointment, but didn't get out of there until after 12:00pm. Absolutely ridiculous. The doctor is ok, if you get to see her.

I should add that after the initial review, I did go back to this medical center (I figured let me give them a second chance) and actually got to see the doc that time. She seemed nice enough and things seemed to be better overall. There were some new exam tables and looked as though the place had been cleaned, so I actually had some hope. Had been in there a couple more times too. Fast forward to today. I had decided to take my son to her, so she could be his doc too (We did have an appointment). Now this was a big step for me! We got there and did the paperwork, thought we were set to go. WRONG! For some reason the receptionist was having issues with understanding my insurance and if I had a co-pay or not (I get that, it can be very hard to decipher), so I explained that I didn't have a co-pay because of the kind of plan it is, and also that I had been going there for more than a year. So I asked her if maybe she could check out my record, since it was the same card. She called back and forth with someone about the issue and was still having a problem, so after some chitchat, we sat back down and she said she'd be right back with me. In about 5 minutes, she called me up to the window and said that the doctor told her that I needed to go find a different doctor because of a review. Umm what??? So I asked her again to repeat what she said, she said the same thing and added the doctor didn't want to be my doctor anymore and that I should find someone else, that was it. She said she had never heard of anything like that before and by the look on her face was very embarrassed by the situation.

All I can say is WOW! I was basically kicked out of the doctor's office for a review! Funny how convenient it was that after 20 minutes of insurance confusion she wants me to leave. Absolutely ridiculous! Never again!

They use scare tactics to get ...

They use scare tactics to get people through the door. A relative went to get a confirmation with the results of a blood test. The medical center stated there was something abnormal with the results and that my relative had to come in immediately. (Within that same day) My relative was, extremely, in distress. Thinking the worse. When my relative went in for the results the medical center confirmed the results my relative was expecting. There was NOTHING ABNORMAL!!! My relative was confused, angry and relieved at the same time. When I called to speak to someone in charge to discuss this barbaric and stressful policy, a Ms. Mia stated that unless I am a patient of the Poincianna Family Medical Center I could not know who owned the Medical Center, who is in charge of the policies, who I can speak to to make a complaint. I even informed her that a simple "Your results are ready, would you like to make an appointment? or call back at another time for an appt to get your results?. Ms Mia stated, We don't do that because people won't come in for there results. My relative was still in shock on how the results were delivered, so my relative wanted me to look into the situation. I wasn't trying to get any information regarding my relatives chart but they treated me as if I was. There was no courtesy or consideration regarding my relatives situation or my concern regarding there behavior with her. UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY HEALTHY AND SURE YOUR HEART CAN TAKE A SCARE LIKE THAT DO NOT GO to Poincianna Family Medical Center. By the way, the only way only I could post this review was by selecting a star but I do not think it deserves any.
