Hounds Campground

The people were friendly. Most of the sites are in direct sunlight. There is a very busy railroad crossing. If you are planning a visit based on the website photos, I recommend you not. The paddle boats are in a tiny rectangle that has unclean water. The splash pad was not filled and was covered in red dirt. The price on the website is $25 per night, but when you get there it's $40 per night on weekends. That is mentioned nowhere on the website. The only redeeming quality is the drive in theater. That was a nice treat!

THE CAMPGROUND FROM HELL !!!

Sites are small, bathrooms are filthy and unstocked . I had to park my truck in the next site because it wouldn't fit on the site I rented.

People there seem to live there year round, and were the type of people that made me afraid to leave my camper to explore the area.

There was a unruly unsupervised child that vandalized my camper, truck as well as the bathroom. He did this by putting graffiti on every surface he could write on. I reported it to the office and they sent the family , but I ended up cleaning it off myself and the campground owners never followed up.

Best yet this kid and family had been living there for at least two months prior, how many other people had problems before me?

Stay Away

This place is okay. I say that because the spots are kind of difficult to get into. And the ground is mostly orange clay which when it rain is an awful mess. Their play area is nice and the people are very kind. The price is reasonable for the area. The HUGE problem for us is the very very loud train that goes right past the rv side of the campground all day and all night. I think we heard it more at night than during the day. That's a major reason why I wouldn't stay again.
