Horrible and utterly lacking any ethics whatsoever!

I have taken my granddaughter here for numerous sick-visits when her mother and father were at work. During all of my visits, I personally had alarm bells going off for numerous reasons: 1.) Huge lack of personal care...different doctors saw her each time and they always acted as if they had never seen her before when she'd been going there since birth. And they obviously were too busy to read her file before entering the exam room which was glaringly obvious to me. 2.) Very rude front desk staff. Just rude, short, and abrupt. I always felt uncomfortable there, but chalked it up to, well, I'm just the Grandmother. 3.) Money, Money, Money. It was glaringly obvious to me that MONEY is the priority there. Being the Grandmother, on a sick visit, I asked if they could bill my daughter for the sick visit. My daughter and her husband are professionals with insurance. They've been going there for a year and a half. Well you'd think I had just announced I had a bomb. The answer was a sharply barked, "NO! Payment is at time of service!" 4.) On another visit, when speaking to the doctor I asked a question 3 separate times before I finally got an answer. It was a direct medical question, that was flat out ignored. So I kept asking the same question in different ways and she would talk on and on but never answer the darn question...Just annoying. 5.) They once misdiagnosed my granddaughter with an ear infection she never had! When admitted to the hospital 2 days later, The hospital doctors advised she never had an ear infection at all!

I encouraged my daughter to find another Doctor, preferably one closer to the house. When the baby got sick again, they did try a different doctor, closer to the house. Unfortunately, The wait time was too long and with professionals that is a difficult issue to get past, so they kept their regularly scheduled well-baby exam for her immunizations with Cinco Ranch Pediatrics. The appointment was confirmed by phone and When she arrived for the appointment, she was treated rudely and looked at strangely. Confused, she waited for almost 30 minutes before they came out and loudly and rudely informed her that she was no longer welcome at the practice as the baby had seen a different doctor outside of the practice. At my daughter's complete and utter shock, while her mouth was still hanging open, they asked her to leave....like a criminal. My daughter is a teacher, a good person with not a confrontational bone in her body. She was utterly embarrassed and humiliated. First of all this "policy" is very strange, not to mention, utterly lacking in ethics! Second, if that was their policy, why confirm the appointment and then embarrass her in front of a waiting room of people? These doctors and staff are utterly lacking in common decency and have no ethics whatsoever to deny a child her on-schedule immunizations! I'm sure there are laws about this!

I may be just the Grandma, but I've been around the block with Doctors offices long enough to know a good practice when I see one and this IS NOT a good One! I highly recommend people NOT use Cinco Ranch Pediatrics. They do not have the children's best interest at heart and after all, is that not what it is all about?

As a loving mother of three, I can comfortably say Cinco Ranch Pediatrics is a terrible place to take your child. Dr. Shepard lacks experience and good judgment. Poor communication, terrible wait times, and front desk personnel lack courtesy. There are so many other choices in town, and you do not have to settle when it comes to your children.

Do not go here!

Don't let the location fool you. Everyone I've taken my kids here for the past 2 years we have got a different Dr everyone. It seems they have a big turn over. They over charge & will not bill on copays(1st office I've seen like this) $35 for flu testing do the math when u have 6 kids +$30 Co pays for each. If your not rich then you can't afford them. The office is also not decorated very kid friendly the rooms look more like for adults no paintings on walls just plain white.
