I like the fact that you can get quart paint samples for $5. It is not high quality, but does make it easy to try many colors.



However, if you do not say the exact words "color sample" for the quart, they will try to sell you a $16 dollar quart of paint. Sent my friend to get a quart, and when she asked for something cheaper then $16, they told her they did not have anything cheaper! Since she did not know to use the secret incantation, she came home empty handed.



Once, when I was buying various color samples, decided to get one in a flat finish. Instead of telling me that color samples only come in satin sheen, they mixed me a $16 quart, then told me after that it was my fault, because "we don't make color samples in flat."



I do not think they really want to sell the samples; they want you to buy the expensive quart. Withholding info only makes me angry, and less likely to do business with them. I will probably retaliate by finding the perfect color with their samples, then buying the paint gallons at home depo.
