Pediatric Care
Sydney received a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Kansas in 1989. After two years of public relations work for local Kansas City companies, she decided to switch professional gears and received her undergraduate in nursing from KU in 1995. She practiced for 18 years at Saint Luke’s Hospital in a variety of settings: pediatrics, resident’s multispecialty clinic, emergency services and preoperative holding. In 2014, she then received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she earned her board certification as a family nurse practitioner. As an NP, Sydney has worked with the refugee and underserved populations at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center in northeast Kansas City as well as practicing briefly in the specialties of gastroenterology and eating disorders.

It seems we will have COVID-19 with us for the foreseeable future and we continue to experience RSV and Flu. We encourage masking and vaccinations for covid and for flu in high risk situations and for high risk individuals. I do not have predictions as to annual or ongoing boosters for covid. We encourage the bivalent booster for all eligible (12 and older). If you have tested positive and had symptoms then waiting 2 to 4 months after that infection is reasonable.

We are also able to perform medicare wellness visits via tele-health.

Peggy received her undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Missouri and practiced for 9 years as a wound care specialist. In 2011, she received her graduate degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City where she earned board certification as a family nurse practitioner. As a family nurse practitioner, Peggy has worked with a variety of clients, including the underserved/immigrant community and young adults in a student health clinic. She especially enjoys teaching and encouraging clients to achieve optimum health through prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
