Certec Automotive

This is the first review I have givin for a business but I feel it is waranted! I have been using Certec for a few years for oil changes and minor car care needs. But when my wifes Ford Escape' s Transmission started to act up I brought it to certec to see what was going on. The diagnosed the car that it needed new transmission. Since the car was a 07 with less than 60,000 miles they also checked for recalls without even having to ask them. After leaving I brought the car to a few different transmission specialist shops. They all said the same thing, "Need a new transmission" To make a long story short I ended up having certec do the repairs. For one they were the cheapiest out of about 6 quotes I got! Two, They were the most trustworthy out of everyone I spoke too! The work came out great! Had a minor issue afterwards but they took care of it immediately! What more can you ask for! In a business were it is so easy to take advantage of the cosumer. Certec definitely doesn't! I will be a customer for life!

I just moved to Kannapolis. I was living in a college town and all of the auto shops there were notorious for ridiculously high prices and sub-par service (most likely because college kids don't know any better, I didn't when I was young). They were so bad, I actually started taking about a 45 minute trip when I needed anything done, oil changes to transmission work.



You could say I'm picky



So, when I moved to the area, I started looking for a new auto shop before a new family doctor.

Certec came highly recommended by a coworker, so I went for an oil change and wheel alignment. I must say, I'm impressed. The prices are incredibly resonable and the employees were friendly and knowledgible. They came out and showed me what my current air filters looked like before they replaced them and just charged me without asking if I wanted to change the filters.



At a place back home, I dropped a car off before work that was the least shady shop in town. I asked for a tire rotation, oil change and a brake inspection.

When I came to pick it up, I was confused by the bill. The special was $89.99 for a tire rotation, oil change and brake inspection (that's a deal, right?) They had also been nice enough to go ahead and replaced my brakes. I told them I didn't ask for it and they acknowledged that they knew that, but thought it would be a good idea. They said my brakes could go for a little longer before changing them was completely necessary. I told them I wouldn't pay for it and to undo it. What's worse, they tried to charge me for the labor! And, when I took my car to the place I started using after that event, he told me that the brakes weren't worn nearly as much as I was led to believe.

So, if Certec is going to double check with me before just changing the air filters as a "courtesy," I highly doubt they'd treat me like the mechanics back home.

So, I'm going to continue to use them and I'm going to recommend them to everyone who asked.

I wouldn't trust my auto repair with ANYONE else! Very honest; Repairs done in timely manner, and everyone there is very friendly.

This new shop is a refreshing change! They treated me as a female with respect and I felt they were honest and took care of me! Highly recommend!
